NER: BM gifts...

I know you're supposed to shop for each girl as though it is their birthday. I am trying to individualize gifts while also keeping cost similar.

I am currently trying to get tumblers custom made for everyone (I know they will all use them). If that proves cost prohibitive or will take too long, I'll explore other options there. However, I had totes custom done for my MOH and another BM who I show dogs with (custom cartoonization of their dogs). My question is: should I also find a way to customize totes for the other 3 girls (who I'm not sure will use them)? Or should I try makeup bags for them? Or??

I'm probably seriously over-thinking this but I'm at the point of brain-shutdown when it comes to the wedding.

Totes are always good for trips to the beach, airplane carry ons, and other stuff.  But if you think they're more likely to use a make up bag, I'd go with that instead.  BM gifts don't have to be identical.

My concern was just if the 3 would side-eye me for somewhat generic totes (albeit nice) when the other 2 get ones that are more customized (they were only $12 a piece, so it's not like I spent an arm and a leg).

My initial thought was to get everyone a tote of some sort to put the tumbler in as well as some lotions, bath salts, candles, etc. But I want to make sure the girls will all use whatever they get.

I wouldn't mind if two girls you show dogs with had totes customized for their dogs. It would make sense the other girls would not have that, and I personally would not like a tote with my name or anything on it. I think if you feel the girls will have use for the totes, or even if you're using the tote as a gift bag (because who would honestly use a gift bag, KWIM? If you're OK with just using it as a gift carrier and nothing else, that's fine too), then go ahead and do cute totes for the others to hold their gifts. I'd just make sure all the gifts IN the totes are things they would definitely use.

I think everything that PPs suggested are good.... but another idea if you wanted to do a tote/bag instead of a gift bag-  if your girls are crafters, JoAnn fabric and a couple other places have crafty-themed reuseable shopping bags.  I've seen people use those as the gift bag at a bridal shower and baby shower and they were cute and definitely useful.  If you do the same type of tote though, I don't see the problem with just getting them the color or pattern that they like and not personalizing them as much as the others with the dog pics. (BTW- I think that's a super cute idea!)

I wouldn't want a tote as a gift as I have fifty million bags at home.  Go with your original plan of spending the same amount of money but varying the gifts to the girls' tastes.
