My FI is insisting on watching a show about industrialized marijuana on THC (um, that's kind of ironic, but THC meaning The History Channel.) I usually love this channel, but not so into it tonight.

I'm still up, trying to process an article about a particularly thorny public sculpture issue, or in other words studying for my exam. But you guys are probably all tired of hearing about that by now.

I just got a bunch of new songs, and I can't find them. I can't remember how to make iTunes search your computer for songs. iTunes hates my iPhone and it always takes forever to sync and I'm feeling whinyyyyy

My night has been good. Working on some so-so Riesling at the moment. Made some fettuccini Alfredo for dinner. Yum! I ate half of my plate and am trying to ignore the other half's tauntings from the fridge.

It's a little more than your typical end of the semester. I'm facing my Ph.D. major exam, which means that on May 7, they give me six hours to answer 3 questions about the 200-item reading list they gave me to read, and then on May 12, I sit in a room with them for two hours, and they grill me orally about my answers. And it's pass/fail. Either I pass and get to go on and write my dissertation, or I'm in trouble. I am terrified.

And I'm reading about the whole controversy about this sculpture, and how people hated it, and what it was supposed to be in the first place:

Sarah, that sounds insanely painful. All I can say is good luck. Tests scare the shiit out of me (not really helpful, but trying to empathize)

I actually chose the school I'm applying to for my graduate degree based on the fact that they don't test out. The other school I was considering didn't have a thesis option, only a test-out. I said eff that!

This, of course, isn't near the situation you're facing. I can't imagine the anxiety you're going through.

I like thinking about Tilted Arc. I'm really interested in outdoor sculpture in general, and it really raises a lot of cool questions.
