I'm genuinely curious about this chafing gel as primer thing.

I'm here! I use it all the time. I've read that it makes some people break out, but it hasn't done that to me. I bought the Monistat Chafing Gel and I put it on right after I put on moisturizer. Then I let it set for about 5 minutes, then do my makeup. It keeps my makeup looking fresh, and keeps shine down.

I read a ton about it too, way back when.  It's supposedly as good as Smashbox primer, and it's only $6.

I personally like the e.l.f. primer too.  That's about the same price as Monistat, and it's called "primer" and not "chafing gel," so I don't get funny looks from H.

Yeah Mica, that's what I read. The ingredients are apparently almost exactly the same as expensive primer, so I decided to give it a shot. It works really well for me.
