A co-worker recently got married and some of us were discussing her wedding with her. It eventually came out that she wasn't yet legally married. She wants to get married on the day of their anniversary which isn't until July. However, they decided to do the reception and all of the ceremony motions in May: big white dress, pictures, dinner, culture traditions, etc.
Has anyone ever heard of this before? I've known of people who have had the ceremony one day and then the reception at a later date, but never the other way around. I'm really superstitious, so I'd be freaking out that I just jinxed my wedding day by having the reception early.
