~dnbeach~

I'm watching The Proposal and it made me think of you.  Ryan Reynolds without a shirt on makes me happy.

Re: ~dnbeach~

  • Haha, I couldn't sleep last night and came downstiars at 5 a.m. and it was on so I was able to watch the end finally.  And luckily I got to see the naked scene again!

  • Best part of the movie.  Oh, and Betty White, gotta love her.

  • Betty is awesome.  Its so funny how popular she is now.  I still love watching reruns of Golden Girls.

  • ::butts in::  I love apple-picking!  I'm going back to Detroit to wedding gown shop and I definitely want to hit a cider mill/apple picking place when I'm in town!

  • I think someone said there is one a little west of DeKalb, so I might look into that one.  I'm guessing it's going to be really crowded though.  We've never gone apple picking!

  • Sorry I ran out earlier.  I feel like crap today from sleeping so bad, so I ended up putting on a movie and laying down.  We watched The Taking of Pelham 123.  It was a really good movie.

KJB-sucks about your bike ride.  I need to get a bike.  H and I had said we would get them here since theres a lot more trails and stuff to go on.  But I'm a wimp ever since I broke my wrist so I'll probably be afraid to go on tralis through the woods and stuff.  And I love apple picking.  You should send me some!  Actually, make into an apple pie first, then send it!

  • My mom makes a mean apple pie!
You should get a bike.  I love going out on mine - i really like when I add it into myfitnesspal and it give me extra calories for the day :)  I intend to usse my last 200 on wine tonight.
Was that the movie with denzel as the hostage negotiator?

  • yeah and the subway was hijacked.  It was really good.

So what else do you guys have planned for date day tomorrow?

At 1:00 H tried to get me to drive 2 hours to this Oktoberfest thing, but we are going to wait and go next weekend when we can get up early and go.  Our date day tomorrow is on the couch watching football staring at fantasy points.

  • H wants to go to an Oktoberfest thing around here, so I think we'll do that.  It's a lot closer and involves a beer tent.  It's supposed to be kinda chily out, so I gotta find some warm clothes - I did some damage at TJMax today.  oops.

  • I have so many hoodies and light jackets, thats probably my favorite thing to wear.

H has put a limit on my shopping.  He has now plugged my credit card balances into our money program and has us "on a plan" to pay them off.  In the meantime, he's trying to convince me that we are poor.  Which I know we aren't.  Luckily he won't see my credit cards while deployed!

    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Ohhhh my credit cards are BAD.  Ridiculously bad.  It's really hard for me to make a budget when H's paycheck is so random.   Damn you comission...

  • Hey, did I mention that the wine of the month that Adam brought home last night was a
    MAGNUM?  Yeah, that's gone already.
    Photobucket
  • Yeah we bought a magnum yesterday too and was gone way too quick.  Those massive wine glasses kill a bottle!
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • ha!  We were just discussing that.  Our neighbors got us huge wine glasses for a neighbor night gift.  Usually, i love to use little wine glasses, like the ones you get at wine tastings.  But when we use these huge ones?  A magnum is gone... quickly.
    Photobucket
  • Yeah I like the big ones.  I feel that using a small one is like living in denial.  I know I'm gonna drink the whole bottle.  If I can tell myself I only had "2" glasses of wine, instead of 4 I feel much better!  Not that I really care.

Plus I'm lazy.  You pour half a bottle in a big glass and you're good to go for a bit.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • I love little glasses, I also like little forks and spoons.  I think it makes me feel like less of a fatass :)
    Photobucket
  • Haha.  I always go for the big fork, but little spoon.  But always the big wine glasses.

    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • I always feel like I'm going to spill it.  And that would be a travesty.
    Photobucket
  • Very true.  I'm very bored tonight,  I can't believe its only 7:30.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • yeah me too - i'm watching the iowa game - they are kicking some PSU ass, so my attention is wandering.

  • And H and I are trying to decide where to go with out American miles.  We really want to go to South Africa, but doesn't look like that's an option. :(
    Photobucket
  • I vote Seattle!  I even know of a free place for you to stay.

We have a Discover Miles card.  I just booked my flight home for Christmas yesterday.  $430.  But our miles will give me back probably $120 of it.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • H actually almost moved to Seattle right before he met me.  I think his ex-gf is still out there.
I am actually kinda dreading Christmas this year.  H's parents moved to SC earlier this year.  I KNOW they are going to want us to come down, which is not an option.  I am REALLY hoping they do not come here.  Cause they will want to stay at our house and make me miserable.
    Photobucket
  • That sucks.  We are both from the same city which is nice since holidays are easy for us to go to one than the other.  I'll have to go to H's family's Christmas dinner for a while, which will be wierd since it will be the first time I've gone there without him.  At least I'll be able to leave early though and not feel guilty for taking H away.  Not that he ever cares.  His family is nothing like him.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • I can not stand H's family.  I would Never go to a family event without him.  I am super jealous of my brother's wife, she loves her IL's :)
    Photobucket
  • Yeah I am jealous when people say they love theirs.  His aunts and grandparents are great.  But MIL is like a giant 12 year old with her personality, and I can only stomach so much of her at a time.  I only met his dad the night before the wedding since he lives like 2 hours from our hometown, and kinda took himself out of their lives.  I'm definitely looking forward to only spending like an hour with them at Chistmas though.  Then the next time we will be home will probably be for his brothers wedding in July that we are both in.

  • H's parents are just....  I don't know.  His mom is ok, but she's a total airhead.  I had a big problem with her when my shower was being planned - she would not get back to the person throwing it after she had said her sister wanted to contribute.  i went a little bridezilla and told H that his family could just do their own shower if they wanted, I didn't want my MOH's mom to have to pay for his family.
And his dad?  Oh don't get me started.  He wore shorts to our wedding, when I asked him 3 times to wear pants, and once we got our pictures back, you could see him inside behind us during our first dance!  They also basically insisted that we come to see their house in SC on our way down to Florida - cause you know, it's on the way, and I had nothing else to do a week before our wedding.
    Photobucket
  • Haha.  Ok lets see.  H's mom got hammered at our wedding in the cocktail hour, and barely made it into the reception.  She left basically right after dinner, which I was shocked at.  At our RD she made a scene by not talking to anyone and refusing to eat anything because "her baby was leaving her."  GIve me a break, he hasn't lived at home in 8 years, and you have 2 other younger sons.

    I think you win though.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Oh I forgot to mention, my parents threw us a big BBQ at their house about a month after the wedding.  FIL LICKED the bottle of wine.  the COMMUNITY bottle of wine.  He poured himself a glass, licked the drop off the side, and place it back down on the table with all the other wine.  I was mortified.

  • Another think we have in common :)
