My family insists on throwing my fiance and I a Jack & Jill wedding shower... while we appreciate this, they keep bugging us to add more things to our registry.
We explained to them that we don't need anything at the moment, nor would we have the space to put it all. Honestly, we could really use cash more than gifts...(especially since we're paying for a good chunk of the wedding)
While it's impolite to ask guests to give cash, our original idea was to not have a registry and hope guests would assume just to give cash-- as our friends have done in the past.
We've explained all this to my family, but they don't seem to get it.
While we have about 10 essential items on the list, my family still keeps nagging us to add more and more stuff--
My fiance and I spent a whole evening looking up other stuff we could put on the registry, but we're stumped!
Any advice on how to handle this situation? Thanks
