I am almost done with my 200 wpm, and I will just have 225 left.

its always hard to say how long it will take, its a matter of how fast you can pass your speeds.  I was doing awesome until I hit 180, it took me almost a year to pass that speed.

I'm hoping by the end of the year.  I figure if I give myself a long goal, if I finish early, I'll be excited.

Fish, the typewriters are fairly simple to figure out, its getting the speed that's hard.

Shelly, when I had jury duty, the court reporter was speaking into some kind of a device instead of typing. What's up with that? Is there software translating what she says into text or something?

Hmmm, it might have been audiosync.  But I've only heard of that being used for backup.  My mentor has it on her laptop, its a little microphone that records for her. If someone is speaking too fast she can go back later and listen to make edits.

That's awesome, your almost there! My MOH passed her boards about a year ago, (which is how I have gotten into editing) and I seem to remember her saying 180 was the hardest to pass. She had a little trouble with 225 too, but I think 180 was the worst of it for her.

Hmm, interesting. This was definitely different. She had a big mouthpiece thing that she pressed up to her face, and was speaking into that. None of us had seen one before, and one of the jurors actually asked her about it, but I didn't catch the answer.

180 was awful.  200 hasn't been bad.  I took a little hiatus from school during the wedding, so that put me behind a little bit, but I think I can pass it by the end of the quarter.

225 makes me nervous.  For some reason (and you're friend might understand where I'm coming from) I feel like it sounds so fast compared to 200.  180 and 200 don't sound that different to me, but 225 is so fast.
