We are having an "intimate" wedding of about 50 people which I thought invitees knew, but my very first RSVP just came back with the person writing "+ 2kids" and I already have 2 people asking/tellng that they are bringing babies under 1 year old plus maybe one 2 year old toddler that I know runs around everywhere. At least one of them has offered to only bring the baby to the reception which I guess is nice.
I can't believe this. I mean, I would never ask or tell someone I am bringing babies or kids to their wedding. Most of these people are my fiancee's friends. How should we handle this? My fiancee doesn't think it is is a big deal so I feel like just contacting these people directly myself. Overall, I just don't want kids or babies there because it is a very expensive small wedding and I'd like to keep it formal and with the focus on us.
