We are holding our wedding on a Sunday next June, and have alot of out of town guests expected.... probably around 40 people. Half of them are my family and will most likely crash with relatives that are local, but the other half are my FI's family and he is the only one living in this state. Our wedding and reception are happening at the same location, which is about 40 minutes away from where we live. We can't decide if it's better to find hotel accomedations for people close to us or close to the wedding site?
Since we are holding the big day on a sunday afternoon, we are planning on spending half of saturday doing social things... spa day for the girls and golf for the guys... all are invited to join in and lunch will be part of it. Then sunday morning we are considering holding two brunches... one for his family and one for mine. (although this is just an idea we've tossed around right now). Then the wedding will start at 4 and end at 10. He thinks it's better for people to stay close to where we live, but I'm worried that now people will have to rent cars and drive themselves to the venue. We can't afford to hire a bus for everyone... we probablly won't even have one for us. Then again, they'll need to rent cars to go to the pre-day festivities as well... I'm not sure which is the better option.
Any suggestions or thoughts?
