Are you kidding me!?

There was just an ad on TV for a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Procedure at a cosmetic surgery place.  W.T.F.  I'm really shocked.

Re: Are you kidding me!?

  • yea, welcome to Miami. they have that crap on the radio all the time. I was super shocked the first time I heard it, now it's an everyday thing.

we have radio ads for vaginal reconstruction, BOGO surgeries, buy the boob job get lipo for $1.... it's ridiculous.
  • well that is just disgusting!
Also, call me naive but I don't get what vaginal reconstructive surgery is? Does it have to do with after birth of a baby stuff?

  • haha... reminds me of the add I heard for 20% of of facelifts at a local clinic (the ENTIRE month of December!).  I mean, I get it:  it's a business, but the bigger part of me is like, wtf?!

  • Well, I guess if you are going to do it you might as well get the most bang for your buck.

  • Meg, it's for woman to basically get "fixed up" down there after giving birth to make it look ... well, like you didn't push a baby out of it.

Yeah, I think so.  At least, that's what I've heard/read.  Although I don't know anybody who has/would have that done.  Despite some pretty horrific labor and delivery experiences.

It's true. Vaginoplasty. They are also offering lipo for the vulva.

Which is just... I can't put my loathing into words.

What the...  how vain do you have to be or how low does your self esteem have to be?
  • My mom had to have some reconstruction down there after 5 kids and a hysterectomy. I won't go into the details of what was happening, but it wasn't pretty.

There are totally valid reasons for it, and for a lot of cosmetic surgery, and then there are absolutely ridiculous reasons.
  • Oh, score!

Cosmetic surgery ads never fail to disturb me.
