Save the Date no-no??

I've started planning my save the date cards and was wondering if it necessary to put the nearby accommodations on it's own card or can I just put a small insert in with the save the date with our wedding website which will contain all that information.

  • It's perfectly fine to just include the wedding website and put all the info on there. The only exception I can think of is if you know a whole bunch of your guests don't have internet access, but that's pretty uncommon these days.

  • I agree, I'd just put all of that info on a website. If you send it on paper this early, it will just get misplaced.
  • If your STD is big enough, you can even put the website directly on the STD instead of including a separate insert.  That's what we did.

Us too.  We just put our website right on the STD, and all the accommodation info is on there.  I did get some phone calls from some older relatives asking about accommodations, because they didn't automatically go and look at the webpage like most of us would think to do.

  • I didn't have my wedding website ready when we sent our STDs, so we just put in an insert. STDs are informal and not necessary, so I say do what is convenient for you.
  • Put it on the website, and put the website on the STD.  Even if you don't have everything on the website when you send the STDs out, if you at least have the web address you can build on it over time and people will know where to look.
