Sister problem

Help!!!  I'm getting married next fall and so far I have asked 2 of my sisters and my niece to be in the bridal party.  I have another sister who is 25 years older than I am and lives in another state.  I talk to her maybe 5 times a year.  I thought all would be fine until my dad found out she wouldn't be asked to be in the bridal party.  I don't see my sister having a problem with not being a bridesmaid, but I'd still like to find some other way to include her in the wedding without making her feel like she's being put to work.  My sisters and I have been racking our brains trying to come up with something for her...Please send any and all suggestions!!!

Re: Sister problem

  • You could have her be in charge of decorations esp at your reception site and any pew bows/flowers if you are doing any. Or like the other ladies said, she could be a reader. If you are ok with it, you could have her be an usher, even though they are usually the guys, but I have seen it before.

I wouldn't do that, because that is a lot of work with little honor or recognition.

Ask her to do a reading in your ceremony or to be an Usher(ette).
