Bridal showcase- is it worth going?

My reception site is having a bridal showcase where we will be able to meet the house vendors. Do you think it is worth attending? Were these showcases/ expo's able to help anyone or is it just a waste of time?

I posted this on my local board as well, but figured i'd get more responses here.

Re: Bridal showcase- is it worth going?

  • Eh, I generally feel bridal shows are a waste of time/money.  Most of the vendors that attend, I would never even think about booking.

I've found most of my vendors through my local board.
  • If you don't have a photographer, florist, etc. it might be beneficial to you to go. @ my venue, the vendors that are on their recommendation list get special perks with the venue. They get to come to the venue as early as they want to set up. If they are not, they can only come an hour earlier.

Plus you can get ideas for other things. HTH
And the whole time, my future husband was in the room...... image image
  • I actually found my DJ and photographer (love both of them) at a bridal expo. I think it's worth checking out but not if you have to pay to enter. If you enter any drawing be ready to get some phone calls and whatever fabulous "free" stuff they offer you is never really free.
  •  I am planning on attending one next year in my area only because you donate can food to help out a local food bank. I agree with not paying to get in, and be careful of what info you give out. Have fun if you decide to go.
