RVSP Date Suggestion?

Hey ladies! I just have a quick question :). My wedding is on Octoebr 29th this year but I need people to RSVP in as far as advance as etiquettely appropriate because of my caterer. What would be a good RVSP by date that isn't too rude to put on my RSVP's?

By what date do you need to give your caterer the final number?  Take that date, count back 10-14 days (so you have time to call any late-RSVPers), and use that number.

  • I agree with mica and bree, find out what the day is that the caterer needs the final count and then give yourself at least 1 week, maybe 2 to contact those who havent rsvp'd by that time. The caterer should have no problem giving you a deadline and if they say "as soon as possible" tell them you need an absolute deadline so you have something to tell your guests.

Our wedding is July 9 and we have to give most of our number 2 weeks in advance, so we made our rsvp date June 9.  I figured that would give me a bit to get ahold of people that didn't send back their pre-addressed and stamped rsvp (sorry, sort of bugs me haha).
  • I made my RSVP date June 18th and my wedding is July 16th.  I need a final head count three weeks in advance so I know how many linens to order and cupcakes to get (since this is there deadline).  So I would see when the caterers deadline is and then add on a week or two to allow a little time for late RSVPers
