Morning

Mornin all.

Looks like today is reflecting my mood-- chilly, rainy and dark. I'm so tired of being cold! It's the middle of June.  I'm feeling a tad miserable, to be honest.

Well. Today is our first session of counseling and I'm feeling super nervous. I've been veering from anxious to angry, to sad and ready to just give everything up right now and file for divorce. I'm hoping I can get to the point where I think this is going to be worth it.

Anyway. What is everyone up to today? It's Thursday, right? Woo!

  • I'm majorly behind, Snip.  IDNK that y'all were having problems.  I'm so sorry!  What's going on? (unless you've already grown weary of sharing details).

  • Good Morning.  Hi B!  Welcome back for the summer.

Snips, I'm sorry you're going through this right now.  I think all those emotions are really good to have going into the first session, bring it all to the surface so you can figure it out.  I hope it helps you get some understanding on everything and then you can work on it.  So is this over the internet that you're doing it?  Or will you be in an office?  How does that work?

I've got a long day today.  It's usually my 10 hour day, but I have a meeting off site at 2, so I'll probably come back here after and copy this presentation to get a jump start on things for my conference next week.  Each print job will probably be about 4 hours, so that'll put me getting off around 7:30.  Whatever.  OT is good for the pockets.
  • *HUGS* Snippy!  You will be fine.  GL with your first session.  This is a new beginning.

Morning all.  I can't drag myself out of bed lately.  My lungs feel heavy and I keep coughing.  I don't want to go to the doctor for a stupid cold but it's not getting any better.  All I want to do is sleep and sleep some more.  At least it's pretty out today!

  • Good morning!

I have another day where one half is clinic and one half is a shitton of meetings.  Oh, and I really need to work on my lecture for tomorrow and some curriculum stuff.  Sigh.

Snippy, I've probably said this a million times, but H says that pretty much every normal person would benefit from counseling, including people in great relationships.  Because we all have stuff that we can work on.  The only people for whom counseling won't work are close-minded people.  So look at this as an opportunity.

But the plethora of emotions is normal.  And probably a good sign that you are open to change.  Hugs, Snippy.
  • Bay, I feel the same way as you.  We both need this weekend to show up quickly.
  • Voice improving any more, Mica?  You've had a rough start to summer.

  • Well this week and next week I'm approved to work as much OT as I need, so I'm going to do as much as I possibly can.  There really isn't any other time during the year where OT would be needed or approved.  But since I'm planning this conference by myself, I get it all!  I'll be here all weekend too, well in between things like Jocelyn's dance recital and Father's Day stuff.  I'm so ready for June 21 @ 4:30 when this is all over.
  • It's still not completely back, Bay, but it's close, maybe 80%.  It doesn't sound quick normal, and it does crack occasionally.  At least the cough and sore throat have mostly resolved.
  • Bay - I know you don't want to go to the doctor but those symptoms (heaviness and coughing) kind of sound like pneumonia.   I've never had it personally but a friend of mine did and that's what hers felt like when she described it.

  • Good morning. Good luck Snippy. I hope it goes well and helps you guys work through things. I just went to the gym and am getting ready to head in for my first day of my summer job. I'm a little nervous since I'm working with a different person than last year.

  • Bay -- I was talking with a collague (she's a psychiatrist), and she was analysing my insistence on working full time with laryngitis.  If you are really that sick, go in and see someone and take time off from work.  Trying to work through an illness can prolong its course.

But if you haven't tried it already, Robitussin really is the best cough medicine (other than codeine, which requires a prescription).  Most upper respiratory infections are viral, but you need to sleep to heal, and coughing will keep you up.
  • Mrs. B -- that's what I'm a little worried about.  I don't have a fever, and H checked my lungs with his stethescope and says they're not crackling (pneumonia makes your lungs crackle like blowing bubbles in milk), but he said that if I'm not feeling any better by tomorrow (as in, the end of today), that I should call the doctor.

  • Morning, I have today off. It's going to consist of frantically calling around & looking for more venues that work for our day cause my parents are fully impressed with the one I have now, they say the floors are too dull. Lol whatever, I'm sure we will end up going with the one I want but I just need to appease them. There arent that many left on my date either way but who knows maybe something better & not as pricey will come around.

Snips - I'm sorry you are feeling like that and have to go through what you're going through. I dont exactly know what your situation is but either way, I'm sorry <3

  • Yea, it'll be nice.  This week and next week are the same pay period too, so I'm trying to get as big a chunk as possible.  Oh, AND it will come on the 3rd check of the month which means no insurance money taken out.  Ballin.  :)
  • That's good that you don't have any other symptoms of it.  Hoping you get better soon!

  • Good morning, ladies!

Mica, I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better!!!!!  I liked your H's advice. As someone who's been through counseling a lot (MDD) i highly recommend it, too. I even go when I'm feeling well. It's just nice to talk tosomeone who doesn't judge and helps me see things that I may have been missing or needed to resolve.

Bay, gosh! I hope you feel better soon, too! Maybe you want to think about going to your doctor?

    Hi Stacks, Hi Snippy!

Cfas, I'm still digging on your Vader mask.

Midterm starts today, I just love writing on the fly. I didn't get to read through my prompt since I had to nurse my daughter and her ankle...she's in more pain today poor kiddo, and hasn't quite gotten the hang of the crutches.
  • Morning ladies.

I am really looking forward to riding after work.  It's going to be a beautiful day and H is working late, so I don't have to rush home for anything.  I am excited.

Snippy - Everyone gave you some really good advice already, but like they said, look at this opportunity like the beginning of something, not the end.  H and I still do councelling and the person we talk to says he wishes more people would go after they are married because councelling can help any relationship.  Hang in there.  I hope it goes well for you today.

Bay - I hope you are feeling better soon!

  • Also, Snippy, I'm only one experience with counseling, but I feel that if you go in with no emotions whatsoever, that's a bigger problem than feeling all of them at once.  Anger, disappointment, hurt -- those aren't the things that are going to destroy a marriage.  Apathy will.  *HUGS HUGS* I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts.

  • Morning!  Thank you for reminding me that tomorrow's paycheck is an extra one.  Maybe I can satisfy my sushi craving that Daff started :)

Snippy, good luck with counseling today.  I agree with the others, it's better to be feeling something than nothing, whether it be good or bad.  I hope everything works out for you guys.

Bay, I hope you feel better.  Get to a doctor, lady!

Good luck with your conference, Stacks.  We put on a little risk management thing here, so I know a small fraction of what you're going through.

[QUOTE]Good Morning.   I didn't want to get up this morning. All week my alarm clock has been scaring me awake, which means I'm knocked out. I'm hoping since it's only going to be 75 today I won't roast in my office.  I'm already hot so it's not a good sign.

Oh, man.  The last 3 days of school, our AC was out.  It was 81 inmy room at 9:30 in the room.  We were miserable.  They finally got it fixed....the last day of school an hour before dismissal.  :-/  Oh, and the next day when we went in for post-plan, it was nice and cool in my room for packing up for the summer and at 9:00, the freaking fire alarm went off which shuts down the AC system so it was hot all over again while I was shoving boxes around and climbing up and down chairs to take stuff off the walls.  It was fun.

  • I need new ways to cook vegetables.  We normally do meat on the grill, some kind of veggie, and some kind of rice/pasta thing for H.  I'm bored with what we've been making, but I can't think of anything new.

  • Morning ladies. I just woke up to a text that work is cancelled because the mom's interview was rescheduled on her. I'm so disappointed both because I miss the girls so much and I really needed the money for this weekend. I have a feeling I'm going to have no choice but to start looking soon and that really makes me sad. Snippy, good luck with the counseling. I agree with everyone that a lot of emotions are better than none. I would love to get counseling, either individual or couples right now. Bay, I hope you feel better. I probably would make that doctor's appointment if you still feel like this when you wake up tomorrow.

  • Mrs.B, that's just cruel.  I can't imagine how trying it must be to attempt teaching kids in 81 degree weather right before they're excused for summer break.

Balls.  My coworker called in sick, and my boss is feeling like crap, too.  There is no chance that he's going to take pity on me and send me home.

  • Adamar, most of the time I make green beans or sugar snap peas, and I roast them on the stove with a little bit of butter.  Not sure how helpful that is.

  • We do green beans and broccoli a lot, because we get them in bulk from Sam's club.  I'm getting sick of both of those.  Otherwise, I just sauté whatever I grab at the grocery store.  We've been eating the same thing for months now.  I'm bored with it.
