I hired a piano player for my wedding, but I had a last minute change in venue. The new venue has a piano but it isn't in the room I'm getting married in, it's in the ballroom. Also, I am having my cocktail hour outside and he was supposed to play for that as well. The issue is- the piano in the ballroom cannot be moved.
Do you think it's tacky if he brings a really nice digital piano? He says he has the top of the line- but I worry because it looks like a keyboard. I'm worried it will look really weird. I was excited about the songs the piano player plays (lots of Billy J) and I worry that if I just lost him and hire a violist or something instead it won't be as upbeat and fun.
Do you think I should just lose my deposit on the piano player and hire some strings?
Do you think I should just have him bring his digital and keep it as is?
Or should I just find the money to hire another musician to spruce up the look?
