sascha (the crazy one)

Hey!  How are you?  I am good.  Know how many more days til you and I are sipping cocktails in Sin City?!  Yeah, I can't wait.  I saw you got new washer and dryer.  Have you used them yet?  Do you love them?  We just got the standard ones for our new house.  I am not sure how I feel about front loading washers.  You can't stop them mid cycle, can you?  Can you list off all the celebs you've met?  If you got another chihuahua what would you name it?  Name five items that are in your fridge right now.  Are you a good cook?  When it's just you at home for dinner, are you a cereal kind of girl or a ramen noodle kind of girl?  How many pairs of shoes do you own?  Do you like pizza?  I like pizza.  Do you know where you want to meet up next week?  How long were you with your daughter's father?  Is he an okay dude?  Are you guys planning on staying in vegas for awhile, or are you still trying to move?  What is one thing/place that people have to go to if they visit vegas?  Do you have to pay for parking when you go to work?  Favorite place in the whole wide world?

  • You can't stop them mid cycle, can you?

Yep, you can. It doesn't fill with water like a traditional washing machine...just the bottom of the basin fills, that's why you don't select the load size either. You just have to pause the cycle and wait for the door to unlock :)

I typed a lengthy response to the stopping mid cycle, and the knot ate it.

EDIT: I suppose it didn't eat it, it just took 5 minutes for it to show up.

Clearly I am not sacha  butI am going to answer this myself, because I'm bored and I can and it loosk fun

we actually aren't going to be sipping cocktails..and call me stupid but I seriously don't know which city is sin city. I don't have a washer and dryer because my aparement is a cute little hole in the wall. I still go to my parents to do laundry. I buy them detergent though! I have met one caleb. I wouldn't get a chiwawa but I guess if I did I would name it pat. In my fridge I've got left over pasta, milk, yogurt and cheese. I love love love cooking but I am not sure how good I am. I love both cereal and ramen. I own many many shoes but probably only wear abotu 5. I love pizza so much, all pizza, especially with musrooms. We aren't meeting. I live so far away from everyone daughter. But my exboyfriend pretty much sucked. I have never been to vegas, but if you ever come to maine, you have to get lisas pizza on the strip at Old Orchard Beach. I don't have to pay for parking but I do need a pass or I might posisbly get towed...people park in my spot if I go in late and it makes my ears steam. My favorate place in the world is the top of a massive 500+ cliff after I work my asss off to climb it. the end.

I agree kate I should use spellcheck because I suck at spelling, but everytime I click the spell checker, it freezes my computer for a good 6 minutes. Not worth it.

EDIT- And I reaalllyyy such at typing.

I just got off the phone with a contractor (HA! story of my life lately) and thought of your BS issue with the grading costs - did ya get that straightened out?

  • kk, you can't do someone else's interview.  That just isn't done.

  • Well, KK, you've probably ruined your chances of Mandy doing a poll just for you. I haven't been around long enough to know the whole history of Mandy's polls, but I'm pretty sure the point is that they're tailored to specific individuals. Way to go.

Thanks for asking!  They found a solution in which cut the cost by 1k.  So that was good news.  I was happy.  Under the veranda instead of stone, they're putting crezone.  It's 1/3 of the cost and it will be hidden by flower beds and the veranda anyway.  They are also paying for the extra step, one of the risers and the extra railing.

Awesome!  Well, I still think its BS but at least it's somewhat better.
  • Yeah, how did they not know that the land was off?  Their surveyors should have known and they should have included that in the price of the land.  Then we'd NEVER know the difference.  No wonder we got such a good deal on it!!

  • We are still waiting on re-draws from the architect.  I was told we'd have them like a week or so ago.  We had to change a few things... structure stuff due to the grade.  And then we moved our walk in closet door, so we had to take two doors out, put in an archway and a pocket door.  We also added a light to our living room.  I hate living rooms without light fixtures.

We picked appliances and cabinets a few weeks ago.  We had to change our original colours.  We went with dark trim, charcoal rock, and a greyish siding.  We only upgraded the stove to a flat top, the rest we did basic appliances.  As much as I want a double door fridge, I'll just wait til the next house to do that.

Next up is interior colours, flooring and countertops.  Then we choose light fixtures and have an appointment with electrical people.  In case we want a hardwired security system, speakers in the roof, etc.  Which we won't be doing, but Mike wants to go and talk to them about wireless, but moveable speakers for the tv he thinks we're buying.

  • In case we want a hardwired security system, speakers in the roof, etc.

If you can swing this AT ALL, do it!  Not sure what your area is like, but a security system is always a good thing (less important point).

We thought about the speaker thing when the electrician was doing all his stuff and opted out - which I now DEEPLY regret.  J says its fine and he can do it himself... when pigs fly.  Maybe just get them to run the wires without actually installing the speakers to save money, but do it!
  • I'm impressed by all your house skills.  How do you know about such things?  Do you and H have house background or are you researching now?

  • We'll think about it.  But, this isn't our forever home, so we don't plan to do much for upgrades.  If it's relatively cheap, then maybe we'd consider it.

  • Nope!  We had NO idea.  Mike grew up in the same house his whole life.  I lived in a few growing up.  I know a few people who have built homes, but for the most part their advice is, "check on your house once a week. make sure everything is where it's supposed to be."

We have gone to the showhome about 20 times though, so we can visualize what we like and what we don't like.  I also remembered when we were in our apartment there was no living room light and I bitched about it all. the. time.  So, I remembered that.

I'm an overthinker though so I think about every possible thing.  When we were meeting with wedding vendors I asked each and every one if they would follow through with their contract if one of us died the day before the wedding.  They all looked at me in shock.  They had never been asked that before.

Andypants!  I think we're going to love our pocket door too!  I mean, what's the point of a swinging door in your own bedroom/bathroom?
