I was at a bar tonight and a knottie recognized me

I went to my local bar and after a little while the bartender gave me a shot and said "this is from that couple over there, she has talked to you on the web"... I looked over and it was YaPuppy.... she is getting married here on Saturday..

Luckily she liked my suggestions.  Her location has to shut down at 10:30 for noise ordinance issues and I suggested this bar for the after party and it is prefect for her group.

Anyway.. I thought it was pretty cool that I met a knottie tonight. It does not happen very often especially here.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • Whoa! Thats pretty awesome.
I always worry someone I know from real life will recognize me on here. I wouldn't mind bumping into a knottie IRL though.
Ahem, Brooklyn, TJ and AF- I will be at the cheesecake factory at chandler mall tomorrow at 7.
  • That's super cool. Even with suggestions, it turns out to be a small world!
  • I think that's really cool. I want to meet some knotties IRL.

  • roxy I do too, I don't have a great speech/typing filter, and I'm sure I've said a decent amount of stuff here that would offend one or two people I know IRL.

  • That's awesome. Never had anyone walk up to me and recognize me, but I have met a few Knotties IRL, and it was great.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • I was pretty cool...   We got the the bar and the bartenders gave us a shot and said this is in honor of the this couple, they are getting married on Saturday...  I didn't think much about it...  They met the bartender and he is really cool and we are known to take care of cool tourists... it was an hour later I found out it was YaPuppy... Apparently she had enough nerve to ask the bartender my name, he of course knows us and said my name, she said she recognized my face from my siggy.

It was pretty cool.. I will see her again on Saturday and I invited her on my boat on Monday... I'm fairly certain she will take me up on the offer.

My biggest fear right now is that T's sister will get on. I don't even know what I would do, I think I would die.
  • That is really cool, and doubly cool that she sent you a shot.  Nice!  Anyone coming t Madison, WI, anytime soon?

Roxy, what a lovely new sig picture you have!
  • That's exciting. :)  I'm fairly recognizable (it's the stupid amount of red hair), but not many Knotties up this way.

I don't worry about someone I know in person stumbling on me here... I don't really say anything online that I wouldn't say in person.  I'm maybe a smidgen more curt online, but when I'm asked for my opinion, I give it.

  • I'm not gonna lie, there's a decent amount of stuff here I wouldn't prefer to say to a person's face. It's called venting. Kind of like when you complain about the BM dress a bride chose for you to uninvolved people but would prefer not to say anything to the bride (assuming it's not an expensive fugly puffy puke green dress) to spare her feelings. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Unless, of course, T's sister (in roxy's case) and my BIL and his wife end up here. Then there might be something wrong.

  • I'm a bit more snippy on here than in real life I suppose. I never would tell T's sister all the stuff I say about her on here. It would we kind of weird if any acquaintances saw me on here too since they know I'm not engaged, I'm ok with the fact that I'm on here but I don't necessarily want everyone knowing just how much time I spend here.
  • Aw fun! I used to live right over there. I would totally come and knottie crash your dinner if Fi weren't coming in tomorrow!

<div>Ooh, I didn't think about this.  I'd probably tiptoe around my distaste of th dress to the bride, then come vent on here.  Touche.</div>

  • Just got it, sarah!
  • Roxy I wouldn't go to the east valley with a 10 foot pole.

    Hmph.

    Kidding, I'm moving tomorrow.

But I still wouldn't come to the East Valley.

Whaaaaa?! Thats how I feel about west Valley haha. What are your reasons?
  • It's all the way on the other side of Phoenix, duuuh!

I like to think of the West and East valleys as two parallel universes. Anything you've got over there, I've got over here.

And if you DO have something over there that I want, I'm so annoyed that it's so far away that I decide I hate it, I never wanted it in the first place, and the east valley is stupid for being so far away.

To sum up, no good reason.

BUT WHO COULD HATE THE WEST VALLEY?

  • The west valley is stupid for being far away and I feel like its just so much...less.
    We've got awesomeness over her.
I could hate the westvalley. Then again, I pretty much hate PHX in general.
  • It is all about the east valley.
  • That's CRAZY!  I love it though!  How awesome is that? :)
  • jealous . . .

I know someone who used to work at that Cheesecake Factory. True story.

I remember YaPuppy posting about leaving for her wedding a few days ago. How cool! It probably isn't that often a knottie shows up in the VIs.

  • If there is a valley fight, HOW WILL YOU EVER HAVE A PHOENIX GTG?!

Capri, you've been involved in 1 GTG and you're going to another this month. No room to talk!

And my BFF has joked that she should get an SN here. She works in a semi-related industry to weddings (but not really), and she's found some of my posts here before. I sometimes mention major things or funny things that happen on the boards.
