Different wording on inner envelopes ok?

Is it poor etiquitte to word names on inner envelopes differently depending on the relationship with the guests?
For example: For my boss & her husband, I want to write Mr. & Mrs. Guests
But for my cousins/friends, I want to just put their first names.

Is this okay?

Re: Different wording on inner envelopes ok?

  • I doubt guests will be comparing inner envelopes.

It would feel a little silly to address an inner envelope to my mom and dad as Mr. and Mrs.
  • Well, the way you're supposed to address the envelope has to do with the foality if the event and not your relationship.
  • The issue with first names on the inner envelope is that it's technically not how the envelope should be addressed. Furthermore, the use of inner envelopes is more formal but first names are informal. It creates ambiguity.
