Morning!

Why is it that I know I have off today, yet I was wide awake at 6? Ugh.

I think I might have a food hangover. We had the ILs and SIL's boyfriend over for dinner last night and I cooked myself stupid.

Also had a couple of glasses of wine and now the cat that has been hanging around our house? She is in our basement with a little bed and other things. We put food out for her yesterday and she never left our yard all day, she was laying in the leaves for hours sleeping. Then it started to rain and she slept on our porch, if she had a home I really think she would have gone to it as soon as it started to rain.

Anyhoo H has named her Sofia and is in love. We simply CAN NOT keep her though, despite all of his pleas to keep her.

Re: Morning!

  • Hey Rosie! At least the cat had a warm place to sleep last night. I hope you find a home for her soon. I'm back at work today. Although I'll be the only one in the office. The other two coworkers are off on Mondays and my boss will be in Richmond. It's going to be a long boring day.

I'm guesing everyone else is enjoying their day off.

  • Morning.

I woke up at 5 AM to H walking in circles through the house practically in tears.  He has an absess sprouting around his last remaining wisdom tooth, and it's pushing on it and causing him incredible pain.  The ER won't do anything for him (they suggested the ever-helpful "call your dentist") and his dentist's 24-hour emergency service hasn't returned our call yet.  H is knocked out with ice and Tylenol PM, and I'm at work for the time being.  The dentists' office opens at 8, so I'm hoping they can do something to help him.

What a way to wake up.

  • Good morning!

I don't want to take down the tree, and I don't want to go back to work tomorrow.  :(

I DO want Rosie's kitten, but H says no cats since Berkeley loves to chase them and can't be trusted not to try to eat them.
  • Aw, poor Mr Bay.  The Tylenol PM was probably a good idea - at least he can sleep through some of it while he's waiting.  Sounds like an extraction is coming soon.

  • That's what I'm thinking, B.  :(  Hopefully they can fit him in today so this can be over with.  I'm just thankful it didn't happen next Tuesday when we were on the cruise.  That would have been awful.

Beanie, Amazon has great customer service with the Kindle.  Good luck!

  • Hi!  I'm up.  Had to feed the dog.  It's snowing here today.  Makes me glad I don't have to go back to work until tomorrow.  I started watching The Tudors last night.
  • Loopy -- do you like it?  I started watching it a few years ago (after Season 2 came out) and I really enjoyed it.

  • I just watched Emily's House Hunters episode.  She, her H and Lola are so cute.
  • Hi all! Mica, someone else I know saw it yesterday too. I'm glad you think we're cute :)

Back in Santiago and back to summer, both of which are good, but sadly I'm also back to work. And one of my CWs quit while I was gone, plus our busy season is coming up, so the next several weeks may be hell.
  • Yea, I'm really enjoying it.  I have have 4 seasons to watch on Netflix :).

    Welcome back Em!
  • Beanie - yes, it's the one with JRM.
  • Hey hoars! I have big plans to do nothing today! Aw Rosie, why CAN'T you keep it?

  • Hey FIshy!  How're you?
  • Bay, are you still here?  I used the pancake mix you sent me for the Food Swap on Christmas, and H said those were the best pancakes he has ever had.  I still have a bit more of the mix, so I'm making them for breakfast today too (poor H had to work yesterday).
  • Morning everyone!  I've been at work since 7:30 running a 2-week event (it might not sound too bad until you find out that my normal hours are 10-6).  Went off without too much of an issue and now I'm in our quiet office, because technically its still a holiday.  FI is at home, hopefully defrosting the fridge and taking down the tree!

Rosie, I'm sad for you, I wish I could take the cat!

Bay, I hope your H feels better soon and that you get in touch with the dentist!

  • Good morning! I'm sitting here enjoying the last day of having the Christmas tree up. There's a kid snoozing in his chair, a kitty purring on my lap and a fire in the fireplace. Bliss.
  • I'm here, Mica!  I'm so glad that you two liked them!

  • Morning! I woke up this morning planning out my day because I thought I had to be at work at 12:30 and then I remembered that's tomorrow and I'm off today!
  • I have to take down the tree.  :\  I'm sad that Christmas season is over.
  • babestate, I'm surprised the ER wouldn't at least give your H some antibiotic and painkillers.
  • ARGH.  H's dentist isn't working today.  He called him in a prescription for antibiotics and painkillers, but he can't take the tooth out until tomorrow at the earliest.  H is working every other day this week, and I have a feeling that the ambulence company doesn't want EMTs hopped up on Vicodin.  He is going to be one unhappy camper this week :(

  • Manda, our local ER sucks.  H works in there sometimes, and their party line is that they don't give out medications or look at teeth, because a) they're not qualified, and b) they can't tell if the tooth is really a problem, or if the person just wants a quick fix of painkillers or something.  I was pretty pissed, I figured they'd at least give him a prescription, and realize that hello, he's an employee, not a junkie coming in for a quick fix.  But no.

The pharmacy is filling the script right now, and then I can get those to him.  At least his dentist was able to do that.

  • Abcesses can be really dangerous, at least he'll have antiobitics. Hope he feels better soon!
  • I'm glad he's atleast going to get some pain killers.
  • Glad he's at least getting some drugs for the day.  stinks they can't take the tooth out until tomorrow though.  I hope he feels better soon.
  • One of my online classes started today and the rest of my classes will start Monday. I don't think I'm ready to start school work yet.
  • Aleigh, are you taking intersession courses?  That seems so soon to be back to school!

  • Wow Aleigh - that seems so early to be back in school.
  • Yeah the one that started today is a Winter session course. It'll go until January 18th. We have something due every other day but I think it'll be worth it to have one class out of the way so early in the semester. Especially since I have so much to do for all my other classes.
