Fob

Does the fob have to wear a tux or can he wear a suit? I've heard people say both....

He can wear what he wants. Generally, tuxes are evening attire, so it would depend on when your wedding is, but it's also becoming more common to prioritize formality of event over formality dictatedby the time of day, if that makes any sense.

We are having an outdoor wedding at four in the afternoon, so my dad will be wearing a suit he already owns. If we had been getting married in a very formal church with an evening reception, even with the same ceremony start time, he probably would have rented a tux. Either way, it would be his choice.

[QUOTE]Oh, I also wanted to say that if you think he would feel a litte underdressed in a suit but wants to wear one (budget, comfort, personal opposition to wearing rented clothing) he can dress it up with a sharp bow tie or cravat! I think cravats are badass, myself.

Me too, Eagles! I made one for FI for a party last fall. It was kind of awesome.

• He can wear whatever he wants.

Sometimes they'll make the decision based on what the GMs are wearing, but that's not always the case.
• yup let him wear whatever he wants.

my dad owns a tux with a blue vest and bow tie...it is what he wanted to wear...i said go for it!
He also wore his plain black leather sneakers because of his foot issues...no one notices these things.

I know this isn't what you posted...but i just wanted to point it out because I know of a bride who was freaking out because the FOG was renting a tux but wearing his own dress shoes because they wouldn't be "shiny" and "match"....
• My dad wore a tux, but it's up to him!

Me too. How did they ever go out of fashion!

OP-either is absolutely fine.

As long as a cravat is involved.
