Groom at the bridal shower?

Is he supposed to be at the shower and if so does he just stop by or does he stay for the whole thing?

I've never seen a groom at a bridal shower.

I've heard of grooms being at bridal showers.  I think it's personal preference.

Technically if it's a bridal shower it's just for the bride, and the groom isn't there.  Most grooms show up at the end with flowers and the ladies all say "aww, how sweet" even though it's expected of him to do that.  

If it's a wedding shower, or a co-ed shower, then it doesn't matter.

I had my one friend's fiance stop by her shower to bring something.  I've also heard of "couple showers" where it's more like an engagement party and not just something for the ladies.

They don't usually attend in Central Ohio but I think in NE Ohio it is expected that he will stop by at the end of the shower, usually bringing his FI flowers or something.

I've seen grooms at showers...though I haven't heard of the stopping by at the end with flowers...

I've either seen (if it's a surprise for the Bride) the groom assist in keeping it a surprise, and escorting her to the shower, staying for a short while, then leaving to let the ladies do their thing.

I've also seent he bride and groom surprised, and both stay for the whole event opening the gifts together. (one of my BFF's did this)

I've also seen it be just the bride with no groom in sight. I think really, do what seems the "norm" in your circle, and I wouldn't make your fiance go if he's not interested, since more often than not, the grooms don't attend.

I have seen grooms stop by at the end...unless its a co-ed thing as pps said.  My FI wouldn't go if he was on fire. lol
