I have a few wedding pictures if anyone's interested....

If not, then disregard.
Let's see if this works...never done PIP before.

  • Pretty!  Congratulations!!!  Did you have a fantastic time?
  • Look at you, Mrs. Lovely! I love them. Congrats!
  • Thank you so much! I did have a really good time, despite one of my bridesmaids being a total douche all day. I didn't even think to be mad at her until a few days later, because I was having such a great time. It flew by though; I felt like a little kid after Christmas morning. All the buildup and anticipation and it's over so quickly. But I loved it, and I'm glad it's over and I'm married!
  • oooh, spill the douchey BM story.
  • I'm interested! Congratualtions, Cengle!!!
  • Congrats! And ditto about the douchey bm story. I wanna know!

  • Well, basically she just complained the whole day.  She didn't like her makeup (yet she didn't say anything to remedy this, just complain); her hair took too long to do; I forgot to bring the champagne to the church so she could have a mimosa (I had actually planned to do this, yeah, I forgot in the midst of, you know, everything else); it was cold and I wanted some outdoor pictures (although I'll cop to that, it was really freaking cold and i wanted pictures in Forest Park. It was my bridezilla request-no one else complained though!).  It was just all about her, all day.

At the reception, she got into an argument with her boyfriend, at the very beginning.  They talked to each other and were texting during all the toasts (and they were both up at the "head" table, so everyone saw them do this), they didn't eat, and they left before dinner was even over.  I thought my other bridesmaids were going to throttle her before the day was over.

She wasn't always like this (we've been friends since we were 5), but lately she's been more and more of a drama queen and very selfish. My other friends wonder why I'm still friends with her, but I just can't seem to break up with her. This is also the friend who sent me a text the day I got engaged, saying she couldn't be in the wedding, b/c her boyfriend had just broken up with her and she couldn't handle being in a wedding (same boyfriend as at the wedding, mind you. They break up and get back together all the time).

So, she was just a drama queen and couldn't make it all about her for just one day.  Oh well.  The day was great anyway.
That was really long. Sorry about that!
  • Dude cengle I forgot you were in St. Louis! I don't blame you at all for wanting Forest Park pictures :) We didn't go there because it was in the middle of June and our photographer convinced us it would be too crowded, but I still kind of wish we had gone. My dream venue for our reception was actually the world's fair pavilion, but it was already booked and would have been pricey anyway unless we used Pasta Co. for catering, although that would have been yummy. Where did you get married? Sorry if I just missed it.

Sorry about the bm, that is douchey. I'm glad you didn't let it ruin your day!

  • An acronym I learned from the nest the other day:

    DTMKA. Dump the m*ther-f*cker already.

They use it in reference to assholey dudes, but I'm using it in reference to your assholey BM.
  • tlv: We got married at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, on Clayton Road, near St. Mary's.  We only took a few pictures at Forest Park, b/c it was at night, and it was really cold. We did some with the whole wedding party in front of the History Museum, and then ones with just me and H at the Grand Basin.  I haven't seen any of those yet, so I have no idea how they turned out.

My friend got married in June, and we went to Forest Park, and there were a lot of bridal parties, but it wasn't too bad. I think at the Grand Basin we saw about 7 or 8 other wedding parties.

Despite my BM being stupid, it was a good day--I was really glad the weather wasn't bad!
  • The only thing that would have upset me is the pictures in the cold.  For people like me who hate the cold, that would have been miserable.  Other than that, your "friend" sounds like a giant douche.  Congrats on your wedding!
  • Georgia: I know, I just can't seem to for some reason. If we met today, or even in the past several years, we wouldn't be friends. I guess it's just all the history.  She's sent me a facebook message today and written on my wall, but I haven't responded. She doesn't even know that I'm kind of upset with her, and if I brought it up, she wouldn't get it.  She has no idea she did anything.  That's the funny part about the whole thing.
But I have a feeling when she gets married (God forbid it's to the asshat she's with now), she's going to be Bridezilla version 2.0.
  • I was baptized at St. Marks! I haven't attended there in years, but still, small world :) I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures, you should make a bio ASAP!

  • Coco: I know, that was my one bridezilla moment, making my wedding party suffer for my pretty pictures. But they were literally outside for less than 5 minutes.  Eh.

tlv: That is funny!  St. Louis can be really small sometimes! I really like the church a lot, and our Pastor is pretty awesome.

Here is the link to the rest of the pictures that are available:

I think they turned out pretty well so far!
(And by the way, the douchey bm is Dana.  No one I know is on here, so I feel okay about spilling that.)
  • The sky behind your chapel in the first pic looks amazing. Very nice pics! Congrats.
