Ceremony/Reception sight....having trouble finding what I want

I am trying to find an outdoor venue in San Luis Obispo (if we have to travel a little I'd possible think about it....meaning Paso/Cayucos/Cambria) with a view of wine grapes...possbily a winery but I have a budget and I'm trying to find one that will hold my small wedding (around 65 people) and won't cost me an arm and a leg. I've been looking at outdoor venues and gardens too and haven't found anywhere that really sells me.  If anyone has any suggestions as to where an outdoor and evening wedding could take place in the fall of next year I'd greatly appreciate it. I know this area has amazing places...I just feel I haven't visited all of them in the seven years I've lived here?

  • ditto Mrs. B about posting on a local board for a SITE (not a sight).
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Trix - Way back when, I emailed KA about adding a statement at the top of each board that said these are n'tl non-geographic specific boards yada yada. She replied and said she would put in for suggestion and nothin'.I don't understand how so many people think they're on their locals; I've looked at the my knot page and the only thing I can guess is that b/c they've entered where their wedding will be, they assume that all the sub boards of P&E, budget, etc. are repeated for each geograhic area.  The knot should really make that clear by adding a statement.

  • I agree Mrs.B.  The other thing is that if most of these people would simply lurk:  one page worth in most cases, they'd see similar posts that say "Check on a local board, this is international blah blah blah" and presumably get the idea.

  • I agree with previous posters that you'll probably get a better response from your local CA board.  However, have you thought to call around to local vineyards and ask if they would consider a small wedding at their location?  Even if they don't advertise themselves as a wedding venue.
