This week's episode involved Castle and Beckett investigating the death of a bridesmaid on the day of the wedding.
1) The wedding was in New York and ridiculously expensive. Said BM lived in Los Angeles. She was having money problems, yet they expected her to fly to NY for the engagement party, then the wedding (although she said she wasn't sure she could afford it) AND buy a $700 dress. They mentioned that she probably spent $3,000 attending the wedding (flight, hotel, attire, gift).
2) The BM introduced the couple to each other. Neither were that close to her, although the groom slept with her a few times, long ago. But they thought it was only right to make her a BM because of the connection. Uh, in that situation, I'd probably sit it out if I were her.
Moral of the story: When a BM can't afford your wedding and wants out, let her go, especially if you are the one who picked a $700 dress. Otherwise she could end up dead in a closet. Oh wait... Um. Seriously, who the hell tells their friends to spend that kind of money on them?
