Bridal Shower Question

Ok so maybe this is a dumb question but is the groom expected  to attend the bridal shower?? please help!

Re: Bridal Shower Question

  • It really is all about your preference.  There is no right or wrong answer.  Typically most people see the shower as a girl thing.  Some guys show up at the end to say hello/thank you and help with gifts.  And some people have coed showers that both men/women are invited so both of you attend.

It's up to you and the person planning your shower.
  • The FI showed up at the end of most of the showers that I've been too.  I guess it's just your personal preference.

  • He can attend if you want him to.

  • I threw a shower where the groom showed up at the end.  That was his and the bride's preference.

H wanted nothing to do with my shower(s).  He thought it was girl time and way to estrogen-laden for his taste.  I didn't disagree.
  • I don't think that it is ever really "expected", at least in my circles. Some people do joint showers, but typically they are for women.

    Wedding Shower = Couple :)

  • Like PP said, it's your choice. My neighbor threw me a shower and asked if I wanted girls only or co ed, and I said I wanted co ed because I wanted my FI to be there for a couple of resons. 1) He is my best friend and I would not want to go to a party that he didnt go to. 2) I wanted him to meet all my neighbors and friends. It ended up being a "couples party" and it was so fun! Perfect shower for us! My dad was not too happy about having to go to a shower, but he got over it haha. So, its up to you and your fiance.
