Ettiquette for wedding program wording

At the bottom of our wedding program we are dedicating our alter flowers to our grandparents that have passed away.  We wanted to name them.  Would I put my grandparents first, since my parents paid for the flowers and are giving me away.  Or would I put the groom's grandparents first since I am taking his name?

Re: Ettiquette for wedding program wording

  • I don't think it matters.  You could always fall back on "ladies first" and list your grandparents first.  We had a memorial section in our program.  I listed my people first and then H's pretty much cause I wrote it, so I thought about mine first and then asked him who he wanted and tacked them on the end.
  • I believe the bride's family info would go first, but just because it's the bride's stuff in general that goes first in a program.  It has nothing to do with who's paying or whose name you're taking.

But really, it doesn't matter that much.

  • I don't think it matters at all.

I guess ladies first if you want
