What are your weekend plans?

Hey Ladies! I haven't been around much lately since I've been visiting family, so I'd love to hear what you all are up to this weekend.

I have a wedding tonight in Minneapolis and another one tomorrow in Chicago, so it should be a whirlwind!

  • I hope you can squeeze a nap in there somewhere!

My detergent came in yesterday, so I will be tie-dyeing all weekend.  I'm pretty exited about it.

That's a lot of travel, Poli!

We're driving to St. Louis after work today for a friend's birthday. Her husband is throwing her a surprise birthday party at this local bar/3-pin bowling alley place. It should be a blast!

  • We're going to 2/3 of the Reds vs. Cardinals games this weekend, watching movies and going to an outlet mall and IKEA.
  • All you can eat crab legs tonight for free, and then just hanging out with some friends.  Tomorrow, I am going to a Premiere Jewelry party for a friend (just going to show her support....definitely not buying) and then tomorrow night having  a girls night at a BYOB canvas painting class.

    Have fun at the weddings!
  • We're going to a movie at some point this weekend and then out to lunch with FMIL and my parents.  We are going to the place where our RD will be held as neither of my parents have been there.  I'm excited.  It has delicious food.

  • Running 9 miles and riding 40 miles.  Taking a bike ride with my niece so she can get her riding legs back and hopefully not fall while riding clipless.  Swimming with my other niece so she can get in some open water time.

Also, going to a friend's 50s theme party but not dressing up because I am just not a dressing in theme kinda person.
  • I'm gonna run tomorrow morniung, have lunch with Aleigh and then have lunch with Stefffffi Sunday. And Brian says we're going to play Putt Putt and have a date night. YAY!

I want to go a wedding. I dont know enough people getting married apparently.
  • Man, I haven't been tye dying since I was knee high to a pig's eye. What colors are you using, adamar? That sounds fun, arag! Remind me how far you are from St. Louis?

  • LDY, I'm jealous of all your GTGs! JK and I were supposed to meet up last weekend, but the poor girl was sick. Sad day
  • Gur, I am jealous of your free crab legs.

It's right about 3 1/2 hours from KC to my mom's house in the western suburbs and that's where we're staying this time. It's right about 4 into the city proper.

We were also in St. Louis last weekend for wedding stuff. And then we're home next weekend but then in STL for the two weekends after that. And then probably all the rest of them leading up to the wedding honestly. It's kinda crazy!

  • I'm going to Hershey Park tomorrow!
  • Meeting the general contractor tomorrow for the house (woot!), meeting with family to discuss wedding money, and lunch with LDY on Sunday.

    Good weekend all around!

  • Rach, I'll trade your yard cleaning for my guinea pig cage cleaning! My parents have four right now in two cages, and it's a good thing I love them, because they smell like DH after a two week backpacking trip :P

Honestly, I am trying to fit back into the clothes I own and get ready for a few triathlons and half marathons coming up.  Otherwise I'd probably sit on the couch all weekend and watch the Tour de France.  Go Cadel Evans!!!
  • Arag, that's awesome that you have family to stay with. Definitely helps with the cost!
  • All of them, Poli!  :)  I've got a bunch of stuff that's been collecting: yoga pants, onesies, a bib, two tshirts from a festival, some scarves, some clothes I picked up at goodwill, and a pair of shorts.  And whatever else is lying around my house that happens to be dyeable.  I might try and fit some yoga in, too.

Definitely. I just feel kind of bad for my mom because she's been giving us her bed. My brother moved home and is taking up one of the bedrooms and then the other has an antique bed in it that's not made for modern-sized adults, so it's really uncomfortable for FI (and even me -- my head touches the headboard and my feet the footboard!) Mom is shorter, and she can sleep kind of sideways because it's just her.

  • Rach, your roofers make me ragey for you.  If I were you I would be puting up bad reviews all over the place.

Midge-one of our friends is the special events manager for Outback and he gets free food all the time.  We fed their fish while they were in the DR, so this is the form of payment that we agreed on.
  • Sounds like a crazy weekend Poli!!

Tomorrow we are going to a park nearby that has a swimming area and a couple of water slides. It also has a frisbee golf course that I am really excited about. Then Sunday I have a baby shower that I am not excited about.

Tuesday is H's birthday and I haven't gotten him anything yet. I am a terrible wife. We are trying to save some money to go to SF next month, but I still think I should get him something. Is a beej a good enough gift? Innocent
  • Absolutely, Shan.

    Pin Up Bowl? Have fun!

I work this evening until 10, and then go into work from 8-4 tomorrow for phone support. After that, I may treat myself to a pedicure. Sunday we're having a few friends over to BBQ. Other than that, I'm not sure.
  • Rachers, I would have gone BSC on your roofers by now.

FI and I are going to a happy hour for his program tonight.  He is part of a fellowship program through the government and the group gets together every so often for drinks.  Tomorrow is Hallmark Ornament Premiere, which is awesome, and then FI is taking me on an adventure for an early birthday present.  I have a suspicion its a winery tour I mentioned a few months ago, but I have no idea. I also need to go shopping for a dress for the weird wedding FI is in in a few weeks.  And Sunday I start tutoring my coworker's son- he needs a little extra help with his summer work before he starts at a new school.

No Jill it's this dive bar in St. Charles called the Corner Bar and the little alley is in their basement. It's insanely popular, so I know her husband must have made reservations months ago. He's a really sweet guy.

  • LDY:  If you were closer we could run together.  My half marathons are in late September so we would be pretty much on the same time table for long runs.
  • Button, birthday adventure sounds awesome! Have a good time. I am now the proud creator of two clean guinea pig cages, and now they're all cute and fluffed up. So worth it :
