Re: Sunday Night Social

  • I've been on TK all day. Such a good Sunday, although I have a headache. DH wasn't here for most of the day and now he's watching football.
  • I'm drinking a Boulevard with an orange slice in it, doing laundry, and contemplating how awesome it is that I don't have to be in my office again until Friday.

  • My grandma regifted us some cowboy cookie mix she got for Christmas. I'm seriously considering making them, even though I know I don't need to eat cookies right about now.

But I've had a cold since yesterday, so I feel I deserve cookies.

  • FI and I went out to brunch for my birthday with some friends and have been boring since.  I finally got permission to knot on his computer (as I'm at his apartment).

  • J&T - I'm sorry your head hurts.

Brie - Are you taking vacation?

Bel - Did you post pictures?  If you did I haven't seen them.

  • Now, I'm watching the Golden Globes since the game is over. But at 8pm CST I'll be watching Desperate Housewives on ABC.

I've also been knitting my first scarf today. It's about a foot long!
  • PS: Sprite, I didn't realize that your wedding is so close! I know you're getting excited.

How are the nerves treating you?

I never got nervous as in scared before the wedding. Just nervous that my procrastinating ass wouldn't get it together in time.
  • Hi hot stuffs! I'm watching basketball in my PJs. It's a great night.
  • Desparate Housewives is one show I have never felt compelled to watch.  Are you a long time watcher and enthusiast?

  • I've been on the couch basically all day.  Half doing stuff and half just watching Lost.  It's been very nice.  I'm looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.

I'm pretty well organized so things are going relatively well.  I do have three weeks of school in a new master's program between now and the wedding so that stresses me out.

  • No, actually. I started watching it from season 1 last year, but never finished it. I would catch episodes here and there with MIL during last season and got interested in it again, so I've since watched the whole series, and I really, really like it.

I originally thought it was going to be really stupid.

I'm surprised you're up this late.  Don't you usually go to bed at 7:00 pm so you can get up at 4:00 am?

  • Not vacation, sadly.  We have tomorrow off because of MLK Day, then Tuesday-Thursday I'm traveling for work.  I get a little annoyed with work travel sometimes, but mostly I love it.

I'm glad work is going so well.  Do you think it'll be a long term career?

  • I'm here, just threw the sweet potatoe fries in and I'm aniously awaiting Big Love. Today was so nice and relaxing I'm annoyed I have work tomorrow :(
  • I definitely think this will be my long term career path.  I love my job 80% of the time--the 20% I don't is when I'm doing a job that isn't mine because a co-worker has breast cancer and is out sick a lot, but that's no big deal.  My boss told me the other day that she's basically training me to be her successor when she retires in a few years.  I feel bad because we're probably not going to stay in KC long-term, but I'll have the skills I need when I go for her position at another school.

  • Big Love season 3 was quite good.  I need to watch the first two seasons of that.  Now I'm going to be 2 episodes behind in the 4th season.  I just can't win.

I know. It's really late. I keep nodding off, but I'm pushing through it because I've been looking forward to this game all week.
  • Sorry I left; I caved on the cookies. I just put up the teaser pics. I got all of them recently and got lazy. I tried snapfish, and it failed when I tried. Then I realized that picasa would show my email address and/or name to the whole world. I just need to suck it up and put them on my bio.

On the blog, we're the first post.

  • Roxy - I already feel bad for your captain crunch induced mouth cuts.

Brie - I'm glad you like your job so well.  It is nice that the perfect job appeared after you went through the duress to get it.

Cew - you'll just sleep extra well tonight.  (I love you like whoa).

Bel - Those pictures are gorgeous!  Did it go well the day of?

  • Well  I spend 11.5 hours in the rain today.. It was so much fun.... NOT...At least I got paid well for the honor.

The Jets just won.  DH is so happy... I kind of feel bad we can not go to the game next week (we were invited), but I'm too busy at work next weekend to fly up to Indy.. Oh well..

  • Lynda - I'm sorry.  Were you out on the boat today?

  • Thank you!

The day of was a hot tranny mess. It involved my dad (who was doing my hair) going to the urgent care because he had an abcessed tooth (for a week, but decided that day was a good time to seek care). So he was late. I was late. He was on vicodin. DH's parents were misbehaving, not coming to the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner they planned. The caterer called after the ceremony to say that they had the wrong credit card number and needed payment, so the guests were sitting at the reception with no drinks. MIL's family decided the band was too loud and went up and yelled at one of the singers, then left before we got there. FIL told to caterer to pack up before the guests could get seconds, then took all the boxed leftovers for himself.

Buuuuuttt....I had a great time! And we're married. So, mission accomplished!

  • Yep... 6am start time.  It rained all day long.  I never took off my rain coat.

The guests got so drunk I had to cut them some of them off at 2 pm and they were on the boat until 4.  I was not popular for a while, but really, they were falling down hurting themselves and I could not risk them doing any more damage.  A couple of the people were bledding and didn't even know.  Ugh...

BTW - today was the first time in 5+ years that I remember it has rained for 3 days.  We normally only get a few minutes of rain... But there as been a light rain for the last 3 days.   All of us have no idea what is going on.
