  • Whichever one is free with FI's rewards points. I'm pretty sure it's in the Hampton Inn family. Or whatever family Hampton is in.

<div>Have you been to Saratoga Springs? We are staying there in Jan. and never have before... we rented some DVC points... hope it's good :/ </div>

  • I try not to stay at chains, but Cambridge Suites was nice.  The best resort I've ever stayed in was Nueva Vida in Tulum; the best regular hotel I've stayed in was probably Encore in Las Vegas.

We used to go twice a year when I was little because my grandma lives in Florida.  And then we stopped going after I was about 12.  I went back for the first time 2 years ago, and I was so friggin' giddy.  I wanted to go to Disneyland Paris one of the days of our honeymoon, but FI said no :(.

EDIT:  I have been past Saratoga Springs (it looks nice!), but I haven't stayed there because it's a vacation club resort.

  • I love Fairmont and Westin Hotels.  I have stayed in fairmonts more than any other hotel, and always have great service and I always sleep sooooooooooo well.

I can't pick my fav property.  They all are very awesome for different reasons.  Jasper was pretty awesome because we had our own private cabin.

I went once as a kid, and have been back the past three years.  We're skipping next year to save up some money, but the folllowing summer we'll be in CA for a wedding.  The plan is to extend our trip a few extra days and visit Disneyland.

Jealous!  I had hoped to be able to go to the ACS conference in Anaheim in March so I could go to Disneyland, but my research didn't cooperate as usual.  I HAVE to go to Disney one more time as an "adult" before I start poppin' out babies!

  • Hyatt Place. I booked with them for a night in Atlanta. When I got there, the room I was supposed to stay in was uninhabitable. So they upgraded me to the Ritz Carlton for free.

  • Oh, and they told me the room was uninhabitable; I never left the lobby.
  • H and I love the Anabella Hotel in Anaheim.  The room was large, the king bed was very comfy.  Also, we were within walking distance to Disneyland and the hotel's restaurant had the best sourdough bread French toast and organic tangerine juice.
  • We tend to stay at Hiltons a lot, because that's the preferred hotel of the company I work for, the one I used to work for, and the one my dad retired from.  So, we've got hotel points and using them is pretty nice.

My favorite ever is probably the Wigwam resort in Phoenix.  I was there for a work conference once.  I don't want to know what the bill was, but it was awesomely nice.

The Ritz-Carlton.  DH rented a suite at the one here in Dallas for my 40th birthday and it was so over the top fantastic--I begged him to book the one in Maui for our HM.  I don't know how I can ever stay anywhere else.

Of course, our venue has a special place in our hearts also.  It's a lovely old historic Dallas hotel and not only were we married there, it's our favorite place to go for drinks after dinner, which is what we did on our first date.
  • We try very hard not to stay in hotels when we travel.  For us half of the fun is staying at a bed and breakfast, and we are having our wedding in one.  It's like staying with your favorite rich aunt at her country estate, but you don't have to help with the dishes.  There is also the advantage of meeting the other guests at breakfast which always makes me feel like a modern version of the Canterbury pilgrims.  No hotel no matter how expensive can match the charm and fun of a bed and breakfast.
  • I love The Signature at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It's non smoking, so it's a nice break from the smokey hotels on the strip. The rooms are all suites and have either mini kitchens or kitchens, and the jet tubs are amazing. The staff is super polite and professional.
