How much do you spend on gifts for your wedding party?

Hi,

I am trying ot get my gifts together for my wedding party, and I am trying ot figure out how much is customary to spend on each person... can some one give me a range?

I only had a MOH so I spent $100.  I think that is quite extravagant, obviously.  More normal range would be $25 - $50.

We each only have two attendants, and I think we're going to spend about $50 each.  They're not all getting the exact same thing, so it'll vary slightly.

Keep it to what you can afford, obviously.  I think I spent about $45 - $50 on each girl.

I think around $50 is average, but I agree with PP- spend what you can afford.

I am spending about $35 on each BM. I am paying for their hair and jewelry for the day. (Which is normal for our cirlcle of friends.) I don't know what FI is doing for the GM, I am leaving that up to him.

I think it ended up being right around 40 per person plus a little more for the MOH and the Best Man.

I'm very lucky that my FMIL is helping me with gifts for the girls. After it's all said and done we will probably have spent $175 or so. I wouldn't have been able to do that on my own tho since we split everything.

I only had a MOH and dh had a BM.  We both spent $200 on their gifts.  My moh was my cousin.  I got her a bracelet from Tiffany's.  She wears it all the time.

I do not think the price is the issue. The issue should be getting them all something that shows how much they all mean to you. I am very crafty and I am making all my making all of my bridesmaids gifts. I am stichhing their names on bags and filling them with goodies. I am wearing Toms for my wedding so I am buying their Toms. I am not rich and our wedding budget is small. Think meaningful not price.

When my BFF got married, her gift to all of us was paying for the hair/makeup. I thought it was awesome, because honestly, I didn't need another picture frame, monogramed bag or robe, or necklace.

I'm doing the same thing, and paying for my bridal party makeup. We're doing the airbrush makeup, which is more expensive. It's running about $75/girl. I might get them a little something else. My stepmom owns a pottery business and I might get them each hand-painted travel coffee mugs with their monogram since they're all big coffee drinkers.

I spent around $65-70 on each of my bridesmaids (they're each getting something slightly different) and probably around $115 on my maid of honor (I have four girls total, if that makes any difference). It was a little more than I had initially planned on spending, but my girls have really gone above and beyond and I really wanted to treat them to something special after everything they've done for me.

I'm not sure how much FI is spending on the guys (he has six guys total, including his best man) as I left that up to him. I know he's also planning on spending a little extra on his BM as well. If I remember right, he said he was spending about $50 on each of the groomsmen, and about $75-$100ish on his BM.

ETA: Although I ended up spending more than I budgeted for, I still stayed well within a price-range I could afford. I also agree with the poster who pointed out "meaning over price." Money is by no means the best or only way to show your appreciation (some of the best gifts I've received have been home-made and/or inexpensive). I've seen some great DIY wedding party gifts (check out the DIY board or pinterest.com for some great ideas, if that's the route you want to go!)
