My fiance and I are having a fairly traditional wedding and reception. However, I'm concerned about one tradition: the first dance. We aren't big dancers to begin with. But my fiance is very tall (6' 3") and I"m very short (4' 11") and it's incredibly akward for us to slow dance together (my face is in his chest!). So is it ok to skip the first dance? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this tradition? I'm very sensitive about my height and I know this will be highlighted all day standing next to my new husband; I don't want to do anything that will accentuate or draw attention to our differences.
