VZW: Friends and Family

Does anyone have this on their plan? How does it work? Does EACH line get 10 numbers. or is it 10 shared numbers for everyone on the account?

I know I could call and ask, but I don't want them to try to sell me on anything. I just want to know from the average person.

Do you have multiple lines on a share plan?  You only get 10 numbers total.  For example, we have a share plan with my sister, grandma, FI, and me (random, I know).   We have 10 lines that we could add for all of us.  We just prioritized who we called the most.  Honestly, between the 4 of us and in-network calling, and the 10 out-of-network numbers, we've never come close to using half of our allotted 1400 minutes.

  • I'm an above average person, so I'm afraid I can't help you.

  • Thanks, j.

Fishy, you ARE above the average person, so I understand that you can't answer. ;)
  • No prob.  Also, have you ever tried the Verizon "chat" feature to talk to a representative?  I prefer that because they don't try to sell you anything and it's better than waiting on hold for 20 minutes.

I looked for something like that and totally missed it.  Now I know. :)
  • I don't have a share plan, but I do have Verizon, and I have no issues going over my minutes. I think I seriously have 450 minutes a month, plus verizon-to-verizon calls (my mom), plus the free nights and weekends, of course. Maybe it's because most of my friends prefer to text and I have 1500 text messages a month... Anyway, FI has T-Mobile because it's his work phone, so it's free to him, and I call him a lot too. No problems.

  • Mery, we already have VZW. H's job won't give him a phone, yet his job requires him to be on the phone A LOT.

My mom is on our plan, and my brother needs a phone and asked if he could be on our plan. My brother is also highly reliant on the phone for his job, so we've decided that upgrading is best.
  • Ohhhh, gotcha. Well, then I won't try to sell Verizon to you anymore. ;-) I quite like it, though. It sucks that your H's employer won't help him out with the phone costs.
