This guy that I've known for several years got engaged last week. They are both pre-med and will start med school this coming fall. I've talked to him for awhile and he knew he wanted to marry her, but he was just struggling with not wanting a forever engagement but not wanting ot get married after finishing med school. So I was really surprised when I found out he finally did it.
Apparently, he started proposing on their first anniversary. It's been in the work for 2 years now. Every now and then, he would send her a letter, make her a gift, etc. Started with a pet rock that they found and decorated together. They named it something with a "W". Well, he put a star over the W and took a pictures. He has been spelling out "Will you marry me" one letter at a time and she had no idea. He made a book with pictures of all the things with the stars and then zoomed in so she could see it spelled out. The E was missing in "Me" and when she finished the book, he was on his knee and the ring box had the E on it.
This is the only engagement story I've cried about since my own. Probably because we've been friends forever. Just thought I would share!
