Supporting The Bride

Howdy all... Long time lurker, first time poster. Here is my situation.

My best friend is getting married tomorrow. I'm the only attendant on her side. She has another very close friend that is being very nasty to her and complaining that I'm the MOH and not her. This is really stressing my friend out.

My question is, what can I do beyond the normal support, encourage, etc... to help my friend enjoy things and keep her mind off the drama. This girl will be at the wedding tomorrow and I'm very afraid that she's going to cause a scene.

Help please! Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Ok. Apparently being on my phone means no paragraphs. Sorry about the horrid layout of the post!

[QUOTE]Run interference. If the friend starts off, break in and change the subject. Ask the other friend to come look at the beautiful cake table, etc. Frankly, I think you've got nothing to worry about. There will be a lot of people present, and odds are good that the bride will not have time to listen to WitchyPoo if she does start griping.

  • Buy her a really great bra.
  • I agree with Retread. Just keep an eye out for the other girl tomorrow so you can see if a "situation" is brewing. If you do, then step-in and try to diffuse it (either by changing the subject, taking the other girl away, or by trying to get the bride away -- trip to the ladies to touch up her make-up or something). I would try not to get verbally involved in any drama. Running interference is really the best way to put it.

  • Thanks for the advice everyone! The wedding was relatively quiet on the drama front and the girl behaved herself for once. I did have to run interference once, but otherwise things were perfect! Thanks ladies!
