thank you note etiquette for pre-wedding gift?

I just recieved a very nice gift in the mail from my fiance's boss. He has already RSVP'd "yes" to the wedding, which is eight weeks from now.

Do I send a thank you note now, or wait till after the wedding? I'm lost here...

Send it now. If you wait, you will just have a huge stack of them to do, plus since its so far in advance, it will really show your appreciation. I would do this for all gifts you receive before the wedding, It will make things easier on you in the long run.

DItto everyone - and ten's right. Your FI can write a few TY notes too.

If you receive a gift before the wedding, the TY note should be sent asap - and before the wedding as well.
