So our venue's June of 2012 dates were filling up, they had 2 saturdays left, one was my fiance's brother's birthday and the other was his parent's anniversary. They've been married a long time so we thought it would be good luck to get married on their anniversary and we thought they would be so excited...
Well they were not excited, his mom is a teacher and will still be in school and little did we know it's actually their 40ith anniversary next year. Now I feel bad. We were talking about maybe keeping our date and throwing them a surprise anniversary party the week before the wedding. But we're across the country from both the wedding location and his parents and I'm just worried it's going to be too much craziness going on at once. We already decided not to get married this year because the date we wanted would have been too hectic. (We have 2 weddings to go to the weekend before - in 2 completely different locations. FML!)
Should we just put off the wedding to the fall? I'm worried about July or August being too hot. Next fall is just so far off, we've been dating/living together for 6 years and we're both ready to do this already!
Sorry this post is more like a rant! I'm hoping maybe there is a solution out there that I haven't thought of....
