White linens

Did you have white linens at your wedding (white tablecloth and napkins)? Can I see a picture?

Our venue supplies white linens for free, and we have to rent colored ones if we want them. We're not allowed to bring in our own - they must be rented for "sanitary" reasons (BS, but whatev).

It really isn't that expensive to rent them, but I'm compromising and using the white at FH's request. He doesn't think renting is worth it and he's probably right.

So, if you have pictures of receptions with all white linens I'd love to see them. I'm hoping it will look clean and classic.

Our reception venue also provides white linens.  We're probably going to get square overlays (probably shear gold or champagne) to go on top of the table cloths.

I'm thinking that if they let you use runners or overlays, that you could add lots of color that way. White on white can be boring, expecially if your place settings are white too, but there are lots of ways to add color with runners, overlays, centerpieces, and place settings.

I'm not married yet, but this is a picture of my venue with white linens:

Mine does the same - they provide free white linens, but charge (just the rental fee - no mark up) for colored linens. I'm considering keeping the white, or maybe just doing colored napkins. I think my venue is pretty anyway - wood beamed ceilings and lots of windows - so I'm not really into dressing it up too much. I'll probably buy colored napkins or a small table square to use as a base for my CPs, though.

Ours gives us a choice between white, off-white, and black tableclothes and any color table settings. We're looking at everything on Thursday so I'll let you know if I remember!  I think I would actually prefer white, whereas FI thinks off-white will look warmer, so I guess we'll have to see how they look and decide.

Do they have off white or ivory? Sometimes, depending on the decor of the room, plain white can look a little stark.

I'm pretty sure we can't bring in anything - runners, overlays, etc. I'm going to make sure though because there are some great deals on some of that stuff.

Thanks for the pics Jess and msmerycac!

Pink - as far as I know, they only have white.

I think it will be okay with white because we'll have blue and green floral centerpieces, and the location is an outdoor patio with trees. I'd still like to add a little color though. I'm going to try to negotiate to bring in overlays.
