No Kiddies

What is the proper way to say no kids allowed at a wedding???

Re: No Kiddies

  • Address your invitations to mr. &mrs. Smith, and if anyone rsvps with more than the adults you included, simply say you only have room to accommodate the two (or three) of them.

  • PP is basically correct; you just address the invitation to the people who are ACTUALLY invited.

If you want to be even more clear, on the RSVP card you can write:

"Mrs. Jones _____Accepts _____Declines.   _____________________Meal Selection"
"Mr. Jones  _____ Accespts _____Declines. _____________________Meal Selection"

Customize the meal selection part to correspond to your options (or leave it off if you're doing a buffet).  If someone is clueless enough to write-in their kid, you've gotta call and tell them that you're sorry but the invitation was only for the adults and you can't accommodate kids.

This is bad advice, as guests may then feel free to "substitute" a child for an invited guest.  If someone asks about bringing their child, tell them that it is an adult only wedding.  Party line around here has gone back and forth about breastfeeding infants, but, if you do have any guests who are breastfeeding, it would be a kind gesture to allow the infant to attend with mom.
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!
