Oh Alix....

Guess who was at our resort over the weekend?   DH served cotton candy to and cooked dinner for?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • Who? I swear to god if it's Bon Jovi or Prettyfer or someone like that I MAY DIE. RIGHT NOW.

  • Some of the Twilight Stars.. Kristen and  Robert and some others (not sure which ones).

They were filming some scenes down here for the next movie and had their wrap party at our resort.

  • I hate you. And by proxy, your husband.

No I don't... don't mind me, I'm turning green. My friend Mandi met him at the Today Show last weekend. It was pretty freaking awesome. I may or may not stalk him when he's here in May to film Cosmopolis. Shhh....

  • Sh*t, Lynda, now your going to make Alix's head explode before I even get to meet her.

I heard they were down there. I'm so jealous. No one ever comes to KC.

Although my best friend got me the Weasley Twins autographs for my wedding.

    BEST GIFT EVER!

  • It was pretty hush hush...  I found out on Saturday and they left yesterday.  Apparently they were here for a few days.

DH set up a cotton candy machine on the beach for the fun of it and they came up to him.  He was pretty surprised.   I was on the boat, so I didn't get to see them.

This is pretty true. BUT EDWARD WAS THERE. I mean Rob. Erm... yeah. I know Edward isn't real. Yep. I do.

  • They filmed at night at Megan's Bay.  They did not get much time to relax.  Their wrap up dinner was at one of DH's restaurants.

He actually cooks for a lot of celebs, but I thought of you when I heard  he was cooking for some Twilight Stars

Also, have you started reading Game of Thrones yet? I think you will love it.

  • The end entirely makes that book, it's fantastic. I've heard nothing but good things about the film - apparently Rosie and August steal the show and I can totally see it.

And erm yes please Jon Snow. Hellllllllllo.

She seems exceedingly ordinary/boring looking. I doubt I would do a double take if I happened to pass her IRL.

I could not sit through Twilight without noticing this. She blinked so dang much through that movie, it drove me insane. And she always had her mouth open. I literally just wanted to pop her right in that slack jawed mouth and tell her to stop blinking so dang much.
  • Mery, how are you liking Water for Elephants? I read it the summer before I started law school on a recommendation from an independent bookstore owner and loved it, and now I'm afraid to see the movie because I don't want it to ruin the book for me! :)

The actress that Stephanie Meyer wanted for the role:

But since she turned it down...

The actress she got for the role:

Seriously. Go through that slideshow of Kristen Stewart. EVERY SINGLE PICTURE she has her DAMN mouth open.

Aaaah...Jackson Rathbone!  Could he be any more adorable, seriously?

Also, I'm really in love with Jon Snow.  I've already decided that the Song of Ice and Fire books are next on my list after I read Hunger Games (which I am way overdue on starting).

Sorry, I left to go read. ;-) It was okay. The beginning and the end were good, a lot of the middle was slow. I'm not sure what was supposed to be so awesome about Marlena, but I pictured her as Reese Witherspoon, which made her cute at least. I don't know. It was entertaining, but not my favorite book ever, so I don't think I'd mind seeing the movie. But then, to me, film is a different medium so I'm never terribly heartbroken over things they change, unless it really affects the substance of the plot.
