Priest??

1. Should I invite my priest to the rehearsal dinner?

2. Should I invite him to the wedding?  Should I allow "and guest"?? Obviously he isn't married (catholic priest) but I don't know if he would know anybody, if he goes.  Would I send him the standard invitation?

Re: Priest??

  • 1) Yes
    2) Also yes, I wouldn't include an "and guest," and also yes to sending the standard invitation.

It's rare for clergy to accept wedding/rehearsal dinner invitations when they don't know the family well around here, and I'd suspect that's pretty typical. He probably won't come unless he's particularly close to you.

  • Yes to both. *and include a +1* Even though he may not attend, it's the thought that counts.

    This.

We were married in the Catholic church and did not extend the offer of a +1 to our priest. We knew him very well and had he of asked then we would of said yes. But they really aren't allowed to date or anything, so there is really no need for the +1.
  • Yes to RD, yes to reception, no to plus one.
