Bob Marley is great for vacation (or any time).  I personally like classic rock from the late 60s-70 for travel music.

True story: One time on vacation in Florida I got SO excited when the band played American Girl I started dancing like a moron and accidently pushed my girlfriend into the drummer when I caught my heel on the floor boards. Her face landed in his crotch and cymbals were everywhere. Thankfully the band thought it was hilarious and so did my friend and they continued playing. They even started the song from the beginning!!!
