Mmm, I love challah bread.  Or, did, the one time I had it.

Guys?  My H is hanging over the edge of the couch, telling Box Kitty "We're nice to the curtains.  We can hide in the curtains and lay behind them, but we don't play with them or claw them."

Ok, dear, let me know how that works out for you.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Is there an evening thread? : Around here it seems to be basic white cake. My MIL says it should be Almond with Rasberry filling. I think it must be regional. MIL wanted a 'wedding cake' for her birthday cake this year. So, I got her one. The rest of the family was not enthused since they didn't like it. She and I ate the entire cake pretty much. It was a dang good cake, and that's the baker who will be doing our cake. She's wonderful and has been on all of the cakes we've gotten from her - though we're leaning towards another flavor other than the almond/rasberry since he doesn't like that.

Sadly we didn't get to eat anything from our dessert hour, and only managed a bite of cake. It was so yummy too!

All this talk of dessert is weakening my willpower.  I want a peanut butter shake.

Oh great. My caterer just joined TK as a vendor (paying for advertising etc) and they just replied to my vendor review on my local board using both my real name and H's real name.

It's not that I really mind, but come on guys. Why would you go using people's real name on a forum that they don't even use their real name for?
  • Options
Haha aw, J. I can totally picture that in my head too, because I say stuff like that to the dogs all the time. "We don't eat dirty tampons, we keep them in the trash."

Yeah. Except my dogs are way more disgusting.

My cheesecake eating time was my "me" time at the wedding.  There was no way I was going to not eat my damn cheesecake.  My MOH intercepted a couple people and distracted them so I could have 5 minutes to eat my cheesecake.

Same here!  I figured that would happen, but my H was PISSED.  So much so that the catering manager felt bad for us and had us come back the following week to pick up a few trays of apps to take home and enjoy.  That helped.  :-)

You are blessed, cakes aren't cheap! We pay around $35 for birthday cake and our wedding cake if we go with a wedding cake to feed all our guests and no sheet cake it will be around $600 but we haven't sat down and actually looked at the design we want and talked prices.

The bakery we use is owned by a local girl who is in her early 20's. She does everything from scratch and makes very good cakes. I've tried all the cake flavors now, but DH hasn't yet. We need to go eat cake together before long and figure out what we want.

My mom wouldn't tell me what kind of cake she wanted, so I got her a cupcake in each flavor. And, I got the dog a few in doggie acceptable flavors, so I got to try all of the flavors at mom's birthday.

You can try, but it was not a very effective pep talk.

Right now, I hear "DAMN IT CAT WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!"

Perhaps that will be more effective?

    Ha, yes!

I love that site Edie. I could never be that awesome though.  However, we do a lot of narrating for Minka, and in our narrations, she's always a really snotty biiitch.  She calls us "peons" and "idiots" on a regular basis.  I always wonder if she can understand and thinks we're loony.  Which....we are.

My husband kindly asks the cats not to do things, too.

I yell at them or water gun them.

The spray bottle works on all of my animals except for the boxer. The boxer eats the water. But she doesn't need to be disciplined very often, so it's okay.

What kind of dog do you have?

My mom's dog (or my little sister) looks like a Swiss Mountain Dog, but we found her in the road as a 4 or 5 week old puppy, so we really don't know. She's a sweet dog, though.

Don't worry, J. My dogs "talk" to me all the time. They also talk to LDY's dogs through text pictures a lot. Occasionally to Moose (Ranchers) and Ninja (Bree) too.

Steffi, when I was riding competitively in college, I would be talking to my horses in the stall when getting ready. Numerous time trainers and grooms would come by very confused, as I would speak, silently pause for the horse to respond, then continue the conversation. At the barns I go to now, what I do is now the norm.
