Save the Date Etiquette

Is it acceptable to send online save the dates instead of doing a formal card or something in the mail? We are definitely planning on sending formal invitations.

Re: Save the Date Etiquette

  • If you are sending and email, just know that it could get forwarded to people that you dont intend to invite.

  •  If it is because you don't want to spend the money on stamps and such maybe only send the save the dates to people that live out of state. We have a small wedding of only 60 and only had 8 people out of state so we bought 12 save the dates from shutterfly.com cost us 12 dollars and I had stamps already. I feel that save the dates are mostimportant when people have to consider travel. But they are cute and if I had the extra cash I would have loved to send them to everyone but we are closing on the house so there is little wiggle room in our budget right now.
