I think it's interesting how quickly people jump to conclusions. The one poster immediately assumed that they were having an expensive and frivilous wedding just because they are asking for cash donations for a house. That could be the case, or they could be saving their money for a house but need more, or their parents are paying.

Is it tacky to ask for money? Sure if its done in a "gimme money or don't come" way, but it doesn't help when businesses are all "honeymoon donations using paypal" and encouraging people down the wrong path.
