Ceremony Readings

I am looking for suggestions for readings for the ceremony.  I am trying to stay away from the ones that are used all the time so if anyone has one that they have found I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: Ceremony Readings

  • I found a TON of great, unusual possible readings here -http://kvetch.indiebride.com/index.php?t=msg&th=2271&prevloaded=1&rid=0&S=fa98e12daf0ffb1cef13534a435cea9f&start=0It includes poems by e.e. cummings and Emily Dickinson, excerpts from Bronte books, excerpts from children's books, and even an excerpt or two from Charles Darwin.  I loved reading all the wonderful stuff on there - it's definitely for the more literate (lots of long beautiful poems), but I love that kinda stuff.  :)Carrie
  • Use the drop down above and find the link to knottie library.  There are plenty of suggestions for readings there.Or just google wedding readings.  Again, you'll get a ton of links.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • One of the readings I've chosen is by Rumi (13th century sufi mystic) called "One Swaying Being".  I like it alot.  I'm trying to find one more reading from classic literature, but like you I don't want to read the same velveteen rabbit reading everyone else has.
  • Thank you so much ladies! Your posts were very helpful!
