I'm in the final stretch of my fellowship application, and I got to the final question.  I"m supposed to answer it in half a page. Really? Do they want me to use 6 point font?

Im wondering if he announces something on his show tonight about whats going on, and thats where the "source" heard it. I read tonight that he will finish filming the tonight show on the 22nd, after a bunch of crap. NBC got a lot of grief from their affiliates over poor ratings because of leno sucking, so they decided to move leno to 11:30, bump conan to 12, and then bump jimmy to 1. Conan said no way, and has since been ripping NBC/leno apart on his show (in a truly hilarious way). There is a much more concise summary of this (from TJ) in the leno vs conan thread from yesterday.

I'm really sorry to hear about your aunt, YaPuppy.

The whole Conan thing really does suck. Jay Leno is not and has never been funny, and it's not Conan's fault that NBC has pretty much ruined their entire schedule.

My vent/rant is that the mess in FI's apartment is so bad that it makes me crabby and also not interested in sexytime, and I feel like a bad fiance.

Poli, that's gotta be the most unreasonable essay prompt I've ever seen! Wanting applicants to be concise is one thing, but they're basically asking you to reveal your innermost hopes and dreams and motivations... in two paragraphs? I'd be tempted to use bullet points, and long ones at that. Good luck!

my neighbor that shares a wall with me apparently had a fight with her boyfriend or something, because I've been hearing shouting all afternoon and slammed doors. now her damn dachsund won't shut up. SO can't wait to move out of here and in with FI.

I might be a sicko, but I sometimes find strangers' loud and dramatic fights amusing. Makes it so I don't have to turn on the TV.

Minor annoyance?  Our apt is a loft style with the bedroom "overlooking" the living room.  H is currently snoring so loud I can't hear the TV and I'm downstairs!  Oh yeah, it's 2:19 AM :-(

YaPuppy - your boss is evil and mean.

My rant is that I hate when people post things on FB or send email forwards that aren't true.  Why don't people check these things out before posting/forwarding?  For example, a FB friend posted that UPS Is allowing people to send packages up to 50 pounds to Haiti for free.  In fact, UPS is not allowing people to send anything whether they pay for it or not because of the logistics nightmares in Haiti right now.

I have a "friend" who got knocked up by the guy who she is sleeping with.  He's married.  This has never bothered her.   He went home and told his wife who is also OOPS - - one of her decently close friends -- about the affair and the baby and all hell has broken loose.  Its just a trainwreck of a springer episode.    The rant part?  People keep posting all this "Its going to be ok!!  The day is darkest right before the dawn!" crap and BIBLE VERSES on my friends wall (the pregnant one) to give her encouragement to get through this tough time.  Umm, wtf excuse me?  This isn't some tragedy that has been put upon her through no fault of her own.   She didn't suffer a crippling accident or lose a limb, she destroyed a marriage and won the "worst friend EVER" award.   Give me a f*cking break.    I hate people.

Uh, yeah I think you lose your sympathy token when you get knocked up by your friend's husband that you've been screwing. Funny how the bible is being used in this situation though...
