What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I was just about to start one too lol.

I'm babysitting and I'm about to put the little girl to bed. I'm still trying to design my STDs... I have about 7 different designs in my wedding paper divas account right now, lol.

Hiya!  How's it going?  That was one heck of a shiiiiit show in the morning thread.

H is picking up 5 Guys for dinner.  I had lunch with a new girlfriend here in town so that's good.  He'll probably be heading back to work shortly here tonight.  He was home for about 20 hours so we were able to cuddle and visit last night and go to breakfast together this morning which was nice.
  • I'm here, eating dinner and being lazy.  I had company all week and they left earlier so I'm just having a relaxing night.

  • I love 5 Guys... I haven't had in forever. I'm glad you've made a friend out there, Loopy. How did you meet her? I need to make more friends, haha.

  • Hey Beachy!  Are you in countdown mode yet?

  • H went to bed super early....(like an hour ago) so I am just sitting around.

Loop....glad you got to spend some time together!
  • Hey ladies, I'm here. I'm hoping to go out tonight to the actual downtown nightlife scene. I've never been to downtown Raleigh so I'm pretty excited.
  • Her H works with my brother.  They play on a beer league kickball team together.  I met her at their games and we kind of hit it off.
  • Mmmm 5 guys.

I just packed some snacks and breakfast foods for our trip tomorrow. I'm waiting to pack until tomorrow.

Lynda - I love that your sig has Chef D looking right at me.

  • Pictures of Chef D always make me smile.  He is so damn cute!
  • Hey Loops!  And yes, I am!!  I am so freaking excited I can't wait.  And it also doesn't seem real because of the extensions and everything.  There was a long period where I didn't think I would be seeing him until like Thanksgiving.

  • Hello!  I got home a few hours ago from a week away at camp.  I had a wonderful time, but now that I've unloaded the car I feel incredibly lazy (not to mention tired).  I have to get started on laundry soon and a trip to the store will have to happen sometime tonight if I want to eat tomorrow.
  • Beachy - yay for being excited :)  That's awesome.  I'm glad you're seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.  Do you have a list of "honey-do" projects waiting for him?

Angel/Aryn - childcare question - if we decide we want to go more of a nanny route and less of a day care, how soon do I need to start looking/interviewing?  6-8 weeks before I go back to work (so right around when Fruit Loop arrives?) or do people line up their help before the baby arrivs, and people just wait to start?  Thanks!

Loopy, some people do start to look that early (before the baby comes) and I won't even apply to those ads. Most people looking for jobs want to start ASAP. I think 6 to 8 weeks before you go back to work will give you plenty of time to find someone, while still making it feasible that someone would be able to wait that long to start work. I generally apply to jobs that start within the month, but some people do apply to jobs that start a little later if they're still working another job, etc.

  • Thanks guys.   He is so sweet.   Well except today.  He is being a PITA to the other dog.

DH just got home from doing a wedding.  Now  we are heading out to DH's for dinner.

  • Hello, hello.

I'm here, of course. I feel like I'm here constantly lately, haha.
  • Evening! I just made a shopping trip and now I'm waiting until I'm a little bit more hungry to make 'brinner.'
  • Loopy, I interviewed for my current position about 3 1/2 weeks before they needed someone. I also don't apply to the jobs that are more than a month off from when they would need me.
  • Yeah I do Loopy.  Haha the item on the top of the list is to fill my oven with a bun.

  • I can't say when he'll be home, but it's in the first half of August!

</div><div>Angel/Aryn - thanks.  That's kind of what I was thinking.  I know day cares tend to fill up super early, so if we go that route, I need to start looking now.</div>
  • That's so soon!  I'm so happy for you!  Do you know how long he'll be home before his next deployment?
  • Loopy, that is true about daycares. I will say I am loving this nanny share thing though. It's awesome for all parties, just saying.

    Beachy, yay! That's so soon!
