Thank You Notes

I got married two weeks ago and I'm in the process of writing out thank you notes for gifts. I had a question though, do I need to do thank you notes for people who attended but didn't give a gift?  TIA!

The answers are usually split on this.  Some think it looks gift grabby or points toward the fact that they didn't give a gift.   I think it's nice if the person had to travel a considerable distance, so we thanked our OOT guests with a note, regardless of whether or not they brought a gift.  Everyone in that circle just kind of understood that "their presence was their gift".

No, the reception was the thank you for attending the ceremony.

Some say you can send them anyway, while others say they look gift grabby.

    I probably wouldn't send one.

    this.
  • No.  If they traveled from afar, a "thanks for coming" note is nice.  Otherwise, no.  Looks like you are sniffing for a reason why they didn't give you a gift.
