Last year, I was complaining  how I didn't get my proofs back from my photographer.  He emailed me the link that night.

Today I was complaining about the re-draws on our house taking to long to come in.  I just got a call.  We go to check them over tonight!

Totally possible.  I found one of the potential photographers I looked at for my wedding posting on the Nest.

Also, she got busted awhile back because she was Twittering from her BB during weddings about how annoying brides were being.  It was kinda scandalous.

Yeah, I'm glad we didn't hire her.  We got an "I'm too cool for weddings" vibe from her in the meeting so we didn't book her.  Apparently she was tweeting stuff like "ugh, why do brides want 5000 shots of people dancing" or "gotta go, bridezilla wants more pictures" and stuff.

Some of the staff from our venue were on here.  He knew who I was too when we went in for a meeting.  Also, I defended my DJ company on here awhile back (local board) and he emailed me randomly saying thanks for the good reviews and they would be sure to take good care of us, haha!

mandybear (not smear), I'm glad I'm not the only one.  Everyone on the Chicago board would always post about how great she was, and then we met her and I was like, "really?"  I like our photog way better and she's cheaper, too.

Brie- I know! I mean, she's artistic, she's good... but seriously, we live in Chicago. It was not difficult to find someone else that was much more reasonable. On the Chicago board, it seems that there are certain vendors that are favorites and tons of other chicks then "have to have" them. Not sure of who you are getting for makeup, dj, hair, etc, but I can name the board's favorites.

ITA.  I think she was so popular because she's fairly cheap but still artsy...but there are plenty of other fairly cheap, good photogs who are much more personable.

There are definite favorites.  Which can be nice, since I booked my florist and photog off recs there, but also a little annoying. 

Buuut I started a board war so I'm not touching that board with a ten foot pole anymore.

I try to keep in mind that we have no idea who's lurking here. I try not to say too many things that I wouldn't say to people's faces in real life.

Haha, yeah I saw that. Got them all riled up! You're so mean!! I didn't see the original post about her shower STDs, which obviously is ridiculous, so I sorta stayed out of it.

Plus she was expensive. She came with a great recommendation from my local but FI freaking hated her.</div>
